But you´re assuming Mercedes advantage will remain next season, and rule changes will provide an opportunity to the rest, when that´s not absolutely correct. As you said yourself Mercedes advantage relies on many areas, not only the PU, so with a huge rule change, many of those areas are redesigned, so their current advantage will not be the same next season.Mansell89 wrote:They have developed no doubt, but I think people underestimate just how much dominance in so many areas that Merc have that they have to get correct all in this short winter.
It's such a fast moving development train that they really do need another huge jump. A change in regs provides half an opportunity in that sense- I really hope it's something that they focussed on for theee years but I just don't get that impression from what we read.
One thing that fills us with hope is the advanced stage they are at with the power train for this season. Hopefully they can get close to Ferrari and then push on to get closer to Mercedes.
Ok they can do it as good as this era, but it´s a new starting point, with best PU, but the rest is new so if we agree Mercedes domination is not based exclusively on the PU, we must agree next season their advantage cannot be the same
