And what's the deal with Ron Dennis?

https://twitter.com/SkySportsNewsHQ/sta ... 0443185152

'A consortium of Chinese investors has tabled a £1.65bn takeover bid for McLaren, the British automotive group which owns the eponymous Formula One (F1) team, sparking a battle over the future of Ron Dennis, its long-serving boss.
'Sky News has learnt that Mr Dennis presented the offer for McLaren from a group of unidentified investors ‎last week, a move which prompted his fellow shareholders to launch a plot to oust him as chief executive.
'Sources said that Mr Dennis‎ was in the High Court on Thursday and Friday in an attempt to secure an injunction against a move to place him on gardening leave until his contract expires in mid-January.
'His move, however, is understood to have been rejected, leading to an emergency board meeting of McLaren being convened on Friday evening that is expected to lead to his immediate suspension as chief executive.' (Full story - Sky News)

As great as he has been over the years, he never should have come back. Mclaren need to rebuild under new leadership with a sustained period of continuity.

BBC reports that Allison is still in the market and has declined to work for Renault and red bull. Allison previously didn't want to work for McLaren because Dennis was there. Now with Dennis all but leaving, its an interesting possibility that Allison may sign for McLaren

Looks like Ron Dennis lost his battle to buy Mclaren.(with Chinese help)
He tried to use the UK courts to stay until his contract is up but looks like the Court sided with the other owners.

It seem's that Ron Dennis has let his pride and ego get in the way of what is best for McLaren, I'm pretty sure the fact they haven't had a title sponsor is a big factor and interesting what has been mentioned above about Allison. You have to say that the time has come for McLaren to make a change and I'm convinced that the positives for this change out weigh the negatives.

There are many people that will disagree but modern day Formula one has changed a lot and it doesn't look like Ron Dennis is willing to do the same and that is going to cost him his job.

Be interesting to see if they run without the blown hubs tomorrow. I believe with the hubs blocked off all the air is funnelled through the brakes and doesn't come out with as much vigour. Resulting in it not distancing itself as much and keeping the wake closer. Hopefully this has resolved the issue with loosing the back end when increase front wing downforce beyond a certain thresehold.

They have also been reports that they've reinforced the diffuse/floor but I haven't found any good pictures.

Why Allison if Capito is there right now and Ross Brawn will be the right man to the job if Ron is out.
I think Honda is upset whit this behavior from McLaren

Breakroom talk(half-stories from people in the know).

The owners are not happy with Ron Dennis after he promised them the world and he will buy them out at above market value before is contract was up.
And all he did was lose sponsors and stop partial sale(Apple and Honda where interested at different levels)of the company(his pride got in the way....he wanted full control of the company)

So his contract is almost up and he tries to buy the company with shady Chinese money. The other owners know they can get more for whole company or just sell partial to somebody other than a trust/hedge fund.

If the stories about Ron are true then it's a shame. I've been watching F1 for 18 years now and in my eye Mclaren is Ron Dennis and Ron Dennis is Mclaren.
I like Ron but it might not be a bad thing if he has to leave from a Mclarens point of view.
Change can be a good thing.
Just a fan's point of view

Anyone can handle those moments, and drivers do. But when into the cockpit there are much higher priorities than being polite with someone who has not been polite with you

Actually it´s only you who give it any importance. That was exactly the point of the discussion

On the BBC radio coverage of FP2 yesterday , they talked of rumours that Peter Prod wants to leave McLaren and return to Red-Bull.

Feeling Sorry for Honda, Everyone was looking so forward to next year, but Mclaren owners had to spoil it for everyone. Settle it fast please.
