Awesome driving by max, turned out to be a very exciting race but i wonder if the rain tires need to be made to handle even more water because it seems like they are kinda useless, every time when it rains a lot the races get red flagged until less rain falls.
The bigger 2017 tires will help with this but still...

Fantastic race . .eventually! Max was so entertaining to watch, really enjoyed the last part of the race. Speaking of which, hopefully the FIA will take some lessons away from today! The conditions in the last part of the race were no worse than they were when it kept getting stopped. There has to be some realisation that when the drivers are allowed to race, and get tyres and brakes up to temperature they're more than capable of driving in the rain. We seem to be stuck in a loop of knee-jerk reactions from race control whenever a car goes off in the wet. Of course there will be the danger of aquaplaning but I think it's also worth bearing in mind that F1 drivers will always blame some external influence on any accident, irrespective of a heavy right boot or not. A litigation outlook is having a malevolent influence on wet races.

That was a good race. But red bull were dumb for all those redundant tyre changes. Rosberg has them to thank, they were both faster and would've finished ahead of him.

I think Ham needs to thank them more. Without Inters and a free tire change under Mas SC, that Ham never was able to take, they would have won it.

Max was outstanding really,one of the greatest drive in the wet of all time. Nasr has proved that he is talent for better car.Very nice drive for Ocon.And what to say about Palmer? This boy is so lucky to be in F1!

I'm not sure what you are saying? On the same rubber, Hamilton was clearly faster than Verstappen. On different rubber we saw how it played out. The only time Verstappen was faster was a combination of twenty lap younger tyres and Hamilton (and Rosberg) cruising to a safe 1-2. If, when Verstappen had dived into the pits, he had grabbed a fresh set of full wets then it might've been interesting but, otherwise, I think P2 was the best Verstappen could've managed.

Kudos to Red Bull for going for the win, though.

I don't know, I never looked like HAM was on the edge, the was very much in control. I think HAM and VES were in a class of their own today.

Today the drivers earned the money they are getting paid. No easy conditions.

Yes, VES did the show by him all self.
HAM did a great job too.
VET had to struggle with a wild Ferrari.
As said, they all did a good job.
Even Felipe did a great show.

I thought that with wider tires, aquaplaning is getting worse.

Wider tires would have more aquaplaning, Brundle or Herbert actually confirmed this during the broadcast. But, next year they're gonna have a lot more downforce, so in similar conditions that has to be taken into account as well.

On a side note, Hamilton is now in 2nd place in the all time winning list. There's literally only one other driver that has won more.

Wider tires leave more room for more/bigger grooves which should move more water,no?
