Thank you very much for publishing the results a week in advance once again.

Congratulations to TF for the victory!
Their car is a perfect example of clear aero concept and good cad modeling.

Congratulations to TF and JJR for the great performance (lift/drag above 5). Variante will be around the same values at Le Mans. I am happy to see him back on the podium.

I am happy with my final classification: nothing to say about the deserved penalty, my fault.

However, I am surprised by the numerical results: the same geometry simulated with the same solver gave me a very different total downforce. It looks as my car lost a component during the race (drag was lower too) :)

Seriously speaking: we need a more robust solution setup. Sometimes small mesh changes produce huge differences in the results (or, maybe, I forgot the rear wing). Anyway the results would not change this time: my car had about 4.8 df/dr ratio, so, with the penalty, I would have been 4th anyway.

Wow congratulations to TF!

Seems that the field is a lot more spaced out this race. Still wonder where RichMe would have been

I must get that cooling sorted for next race. since its been delayed I should have enough time

First victory!! I couldn't be happier. It took me a number of iterations (and been extremely careful with the rules ;) ) but finally made it. I am also happy because this time the oficial results exactly matched my personal simulations.

I must say that one of the key points that allowed me to progress so well are both MFLow and the nice GUI made by HPRacing. So big thanks for that!

This concept really has potential and I´ve just started to understand its details. Hopefully I will be able to keep JJR and Variante behind in Le Mans. I still have a couple of development ideas that could get me to 6 L/D and maybe get rid of the vestigial wing...

Finally, I have a rule related question, but for my own interest I would need to do it on a private channel, is this possible?

With 6 df/df ratio you would keep everyone behind for a long time!

Honestly I am looking for a ratio around 5 and I hope that the small advantage I have will be enough (I know how Nico Rosberg feels waiting for the next race).

So the light settings was not trustworth at cooling i guess? I'm getting around 6 m^3/s on my test case. What a shame, i coulda score a podium finish here.
Congratz to TF btw.

Just send Chris an email. He gets quiet a few questions every race.

I will try to have a look at that tomorrow. Maybe it is your measuring surface which is to blame.

I sent the same surface to race. If you modified the surface, can you send me the surface that you used for the sake of the next race?

Congratulation to TF for great victory and Variante to be back on podium.
It will be hard to keep up witg TF car for LeMans. Variante low drag design is promissing.
Also Pure Power Racing and Talno Racing have great cars.
I hope they will solve cooling .
Now it is time to serious trim of cars drag.
I think I will be racing with rear wing.Racecar simply must have one
It is one of most efficient element in low drag configuration.

Congratulations to TF!

I am happy with the efficiency of my car. It is possible to trim drag, but first I seriously need to fix my cooling, but I do not know how to do this (I had 6 iterations of my car and thought I submitted the best one) :( .

How do you start to fix the cooling problem?

With the delayed race I should finally find the time to write an article about that. There are some simple rules of thumb to do it. I hope they will work on the MantiumRacer.

I have aquestion, sory if it was asked before: If I have a central window fitting the two exhaust ports do I seal around the circle defining the pipe or leave the whole window open?

I think it would be better to chose the first solution.

Have a look at the rulebook on the page with K4.2 and K4.3. There are two images there that show how the body stl should look surrounding the engine inlet/exhaust surfaces. We recommend that body stl forms a solid (no holes at all), with cavities where the inlets and exhausts are - the separate inlet/exhaust surfaces should fit perfectly inside these cavities.

It would be more than nice if everyone could follow this advice before it turns into a rule. This time I spent a lot of time making the cars runnable. The last simulation only got done Sunday morning.

I uploaded the new MantiumWFlow which contains a cool post-processor. As I do not really have a Windows computer (I have one where I did not immediately delete Windows when I got it, but for almost everything I have to update the Internet Exploder first, which seems a bit too ridiculous) it is not as well tested as it should be. I hope that it works and if not that it is at least easy to fix. For the GUI version you will have to wait for HP-Racing to take care of that.
