Well it should. Maybe this is the first step in understanding why this is failing.
I did this in the end of the file:

Code: Select all

zNormal_001
{
type cuttingPlane;
planeType pointAndNormal;
pointAndNormalDict
{
basePoint ( 0 0 0.0312);
normalVector ( 0 0 1);
}
interpolate true;
}

zNormal_002
{
type cuttingPlane;
planeType pointAndNormal;
pointAndNormalDict
{
basePoint ( 0 0 0.1248);
normalVector ( 0 0 1);
}
interpolate true;
}

zNormal_003
{
type cuttingPlane;
planeType pointAndNormal;
pointAndNormalDict
{
basePoint ( 0 0 0.2996);
normalVector ( 0 0 1);
}
interpolate true;
}

zNormal_004
{
type cuttingPlane;
planeType pointAndNormal;
pointAndNormalDict
{
basePoint ( 0 0 0.4744);
normalVector ( 0 0 1);
}
interpolate true;
}

zNormal_004
{
type cuttingPlane;
planeType pointAndNormal;
pointAndNormalDict
{
basePoint ( 0 0 0.6492);
normalVector ( 0 0 1);
}
interpolate true;
}

zNormal_006
{
type cuttingPlane;
planeType pointAndNormal;
pointAndNormalDict
{
basePoint ( 0 0 0.824);
normalVector ( 0 0 1);
}
interpolate true;
}

zNormal_007
{
type cuttingPlane;
planeType pointAndNormal;
pointAndNormalDict
{
basePoint ( 0 0 0.9988);
normalVector ( 0 0 1);
}
interpolate true;
}

zNormal_008
{
type cuttingPlane;
planeType pointAndNormal;
pointAndNormalDict
{
basePoint ( 0 0 1.1736);
normalVector ( 0 0 1);
}
interpolate true;
}

);
Added the first block, renumbered all.

PP didn't run the Z images and nothing after that. Got no pressure colored surfaces.

It was in another case, not the one I submitted. Using the original cutting planes it finished alright.

Ohhh I just seen I screwed it.... 004 repeated.

Thanks, wich version of Linux would you suggest for a single workstation (not cluster, it is a desktop 6900K + 64gb available for CFD)?
I will soon switch back to OpenSuse. It runs on most HPC environments I have used and use and I guess that is why some hidden stuff is well tuned for doing things like CFD. In the new Leap some other things important for me did not work anymore. But as my new distribution has many other failing as every Linux distro does, I will spend time on fixing the OpenSuse stuff as it still seems to fit my needs best. I have often experimented with flavors of Ubuntu but never liked it. But it is probably more user friendly than most alternatives.

Ok, I will try Open Suse

I earned myself a penalty by not checking the rulebook for updates, and for a couple of silly errors when modeling. Seems like the rule book changed a lot since I last had a look

I almost got a heart attack myself when I read non compliance email. Luckily it was a minor thing, tiny hole in my diffuser, so I won't get penalized.
I'm intrigued to try the Linux version of MFlow. From what I've seen OpenFoam runs considerably faster under Linux.
Looking forward to the results!

The main violation and the one that caused your penalty has been in the rules book since last year. From where do you get your copy, from the library?

I bet your are, they will be released tomorrow. But I realized that with only 6 cars entered for this race there is no hope for you getting to be the surprise champ.

Would you be so kind and release a full table of results like there was for Monaco? With the CDxAs and CoP and stuff? Being this the last race and all...

It would provide a great baseline to develop from scratch between seasons.

I will after the last race at some point update everything on the page. I know I got lazy...

Well that's why im so amazed since my car has been largely the same since a few races now, especially the size and placement of all the exhaust surfaces. That hasn't changed on my car since the second (?) race, yet it was not picked up in the compliance checking the whole season??

That's what baffles me because I thought my car was legal all along (except the stupid error in the tyre well)

Usually only the top 6 or so entries for each round are checked, but since we only had 6 entries this round, all of them were checked this time. If an entry is checked and it's fully legal, you'll get an email stating this, but if it is not checked, then no email is sent. Perhaps next year we should send a notification if your entry was not checked.

The main legality issues on your car were the suspension template visibility and the engine inlet X position, neither of those rules have changed this year.

Hi guys,
the results are out:

It was a long and tough season on all of us. Many thanks to Richard and esp. Chris who usually had the most work every race as the compliance checking takes the most time.

I hope to see all of you back next season. Tomorrow I will update the page and send out the reports.

Sorry guys, I'm in bed with the flu and I can not celebrate!

Thanks very very much to André (LDVH), to Chris and to Richard for all the hard work.

Congratulations to JJR: your car is definitely the best.

Congratulations to TF for performance in the recent races ... we'll have fun next year.

The victory party has been postponed to tomorrow :)

Big big thanks to LVDH for 'saving' this virtual championship and replacing it with something which is at the very least equally as good. Also big thanks to Chris and Richard et all, must take a lot of your spare time to do the checks etc. Also, a big thanks to Mercury for making me look half decent :P

P.S. Thanks RichME85 for the sympathy :/ at least I have a half decent base to work from for next year :)
