Every new F1 design I see from years to now it makes me think how can that be better than this:

I dont fully understand aerodynamics (only theory I learnt in Uni) but each of those wings add drag and they are multiplied x 30!
What would happen if you design a "cleaner" car and let downforce be generated by wings? Please somebody explain me
My bigger problem is maybe I tend to see aero like a mechanical device: it has efficiency: 30 devices with 90% eff. each would be = 0.9*30= 27% efficient. Maybe it does not work like that in aero
