fisi sensational!

Post

with Fisi biting at great montys heels at the finish one wonders where he could have been without that engine failure and the repressureizing of the engine during the race?
He would have been up there ,fighting for the podium..incredible...especially if judged against mr Massas race. You surely can say Fisi has him fully covered now.

Fisi has always been a sensational driver. However, with his luck, I doubt that he will get the second seat at Williams next year. The team will most likely need to look for a German driver to satisfy BMW. If this is true, I hope Heidfeld will get the seat.

If it hadn't been for Ralf in Argentina 1997 Fissi might have had his first win 7 years ago.....

Well, starting the race from the last place with a radically different strategy is always a gamble, and sometimes it pays off. But it still has to be remembered that the race included among other things a safety car, always a saving hand for a driver starting from the back.
So it can't be said that he would have been in the podium if hadn't had the engine failure. As far as i know he's speed wasn't that good.
Although i have to admit it was a very good race from him.
I just think he is a bit overvalued too, and that ferrari seat he is dreaming of... i don't think he has what it takes. A good second driver at ferrari would maybe be an option, though.

the when and ifs.....yes of course.if schu had broken his leg again he would not be worldchamp again...
in that race given he had not that engine failure he would have made an impression on the men fighting for the podium,as the safety car surely helped but had nothing to do what he did on track...
Actually his racespeed was fantastic ...on a par with Barrichello and Button.
As for him being overhyped...I´m not a fisi fan actually .I did not think of him as a topman really.the start iof the season seemed to confirm this .
But now?He is really on it and I doubt he would be happy at williams....
I see webber and Heidfeld as their next years drivers, with Nick switching earlier than expected,as Eddie needs the money....Frank really wants to get monty involved in that dogfight.

Just read an interview with Sauber's technical director at F1-Live, this is what he said.
Prior to his first pit stop, he was the quickest driver of the whole field, and that's really saying something!
He really drove a great race. Makes joke about the Williams being slower than an updated F2003. :P *don't hit me*[/quote]

would be good to see fisi at renault next year, and trulli go to toyota, and panis to sauber. i think fisi and alonso would be marvelous.
