Lol, that's pretty cool.
Am i the only one who still thinks this looks and is much wider then 2017 spec cars?
just look at the width of the suspension and the wheels?

or are my eyes just simply playing tricks due to the narrowness of the nose, the less wide front tires,
the absence of big brake ducts, and the narrow front wing and sidepods?

also @cmf1 : that's a extremely pretty lady in your avatar, who is that?
without looking to far into the figures, I'm pretty sure the 91 spec cars had wider tyres. So that gives it its wider appearance.

and thank you. It's me 8)
whoa, a beautiful woman AND real f1 interest AND smart and a mod? i think i'm in love

and yeah, i always felt like that but i recall it was mentioned in another thread (believe the 2017 tire test thread) that it wasnt the case so im curious to if it is the same, then what's the difference.....

Rear tyres were reduced in size in 1993 from 457mm to 381mm (ish).

Actual track width now is a maximum of 1800mm. Back in the early 90s it was a maximum 2200mm, then reduced down to 2000mm.

Say basically early 90s car were wider than 2017 cars.

cool, thanks for looking it up (or from memory).
was there ever a reason given for narrowing it down?

they wanted to slow the cars down. Also after 1994, the FIA just went crazy and did what had to be done.

Also Stoffel during the Honda event in Japan last year was using a Bell. McLaren switched from Arai to Bell?
Alonso has confirmed swith to bell helmet, I think I saw it on his twitter! good shout =D>

Not too sure how i feel about Max's Helmet, looks like a Red Bull Corporate Helmet more than a Driver Helmet.

Not every driver is necessarily as, shall we say, fashion conscious as Lewis and therefore may not give a s**t what his helmet looks like as long as it keeps his noggin in one piece in an accident.

All Red Bull lids are, they've always got something to resemble the Red Bull brand. Some of Vettel's were even designed to look like the RB can.

I hate the white sponsor (West) stripe.

The Redbull helmet look more aggressive without the white sponsor (West) stripe.

But this is my opinion
ah i see what you mean. i vividly hate the redbull logo as prominent on the side though.
I prefer Coulthard's Williams helmet, above both to be honest.

BTW, it's really a shame that Josh Hill stopped his motorsport career in 2013. I really had interest in his career and wanted to see how he would fare in F1. Imagine that, the first family line that would provide 3 f1 drivers through grandfather (Graham), son (Damon) and grandson (Josh). His helmet was awesome too - a great example of how simplicity works.

Same design as his father's - which was same design to HIS father - yet a couple of brighter teints of blue. I really liked that.

I've always imagined Josh Hill driving for Mclaren or Mercedes at some point. Sadly, that will never happen.

I was genuinly more interested in him than Mick Schumacher to be honest.
Remember Josh Hill running in a BUKC round and being beaten by mostly uni students just before he retired. I don't particularly think he was much into racing from what I saw on a documentary I watched with him in
