It was reported long ago that Renault was getting the big bucks from BP/Castrol, and McLaren just a supply deal. They even feature in the official suppliers list in the McLaren site for quite a few days, in fact

True. Even that supposed "reveal" from last week looked better than the real livery

Compared to renault the Castrol sticker is very small. I guess that pretty much tells you who is the primary partner.

Apperantly Scarbs said Mclaren is a step behind Merc&Ferrari aero wise.

I don't belive this car is the one that will be on the first day of test. That floor is totally basic. Even Sauber have some more development.

It's logic to think like that, Mercedes & Red Bull will be the only two contenders for the WC. Then will come Ferrari, Force India, McLaren and the rest of the teams.

The livery is horrible, looks like someone took some basic shapes and threw them onto the 3d model of the car which resulted in this atrocity ... and it's not like they made it with sponsor logo visibility in mind.

The three colours should compliment the car's lines and not completely 'break' them

I'll wait until the first race on TV to see how the color looks. Seems there have been several times (like RBR Black/blue) where it looks different in different lighting (natural vs artificial, Sunny vs overcast).

Surprisingly few comments on the car. I'm starting to develop a real dislike for the prevalence of the Shark Fins across the board this year.

Still early, but so many teams feature it.

Colour scheme GOOD, paint job BAAAAAD! Zac Brown seriously signed-off on that? Oh God bring back Ron quick. Can they not afford an Artist, if not I know a 9 year old who could do a better Job than that for them, seriously.

Aero looks interesting, can't wait to see the diffuser, I feel think/hope that's one of the secrets Eric was referring too whilst on stage. Overall i think the aero looks solid, certainly well developed as a package and kept simple. Only time will tell who has the edge but lets be honest, what will really matter this year again is whats under the hood (so to speak).

These cars are going to have to be far more fuel efficient this year due to the increased drag and a big advantage will be gained by what ever supplier does the best job with this, outright HP might not be so important outside Quali.

The same will go for aero too, It's not going to be outright downforce that wins the day but rather who ever gets the right balance of downforce v drag. Redbull have always excelled here of course, so here's hoping PP gets this right too

To be quite fair, the last liveries from Ron's era (after Vodafone left) weren't that good, either

Whoever signed off on the paintwork should be held up to the rest of the paddock as a shining example of 'how not to do it' - there were so many great fan renders beforehand and he settled on...that. Really?
