How is it any different to someone having an unhealthy obsession to any other team or worse going out of their way to show disdain towards a particular driver? It's what fan(atical)s tend to do, sometimes it's best to keep one's opinion to themselves; but then the forum would be mighty quiet.

I'm baffled by the size of the Castrol ad. :o I thought it would be significantly bigger. I guess they're not bringing any sponsorship funds to the team. I hope it's size isn't indicative of their level of involvement or importance within the team.

Maybe it's a low viscosity oil?

I thinks its always good to look ahead. Thez e new cars dont do well with old fashioned hues and livery styles because the surfaces are not big flat canvases like back then.
The chrome and rocket red to me was the best mclaren colour and it would haven been nice had they reverted to that.
Everyones using black these days and that will do no good for the sport marketting wise and now its combined with a plain orange colour.
Mclaren dropped the ball on the livery by looking into the past and listeni g to the rose tinted dreams of some fans.
White, chrome rocket red or a touch of orange with a modern motif would have been way better.
For Sure!!

At first glance, the word hideous comes to mind.
That really is a god awful livery.

Now that I've had time to think about it a bit more, the word hideous comes to mind again.

How disappointing.

Well at least Alo thinks the car is good.
Alonso: "I expect Mercedes to still be very competitive. We saw their new car yesterday, which seems very well elaborated, and they have the advantage of the engine. They will be contenders. I am sure the Red Bull will be up there and hopefully we can put ourselves in that group."

EVERY... SINGLE... YEAR...

"Wha wha wha, McLaren's livery sucks, why don't they use orange"

They do it, and you guys are all like

"Wha wha wha, it's not the exact arrangement of orange I'd like"

Get over it. The car looks great.
So glad to have discovered a comment like this amongst all the cry babies. Honestly the car looks fantastic. I'm just hoping it will be quick [-o<

I'm glad I'm not alone. I really like the livery. Sure they can make sharper lines with the black, white and orange but at least they listened to the fans. I think the racing overalls are the best of this century at least. Even the aero detailing looks superb to me.. It's all about what Honda has delivered on first look. Do they have an engine to challenge Mercedes?

I do like the livery as well, but I understand why some people might have reservations regarding the new design.
Personally, I've taken some time watching the pictures (leaving expectations and prejudices out as far as possible) and it grows on me more and more.

I get it there are some people that won't be happy until the Marlboro livery is back no matter what the current car looks like. (Good luck waiting for that)

On the other hand the hints toward orange plus the many designs created by fans on the internet made people dream up their very own favourite livery and understandably at the moment anything else feels underwhelming for those people.

I'd say give it some time, watch it on track and then judge it once again.

Sadly Hasegawa stated that the engine is not jet where the Mercedes was last year in terms of hp output.

It is like a disease. If the livery would be 99% spot on on what some people expected, there would be the same amount of ranting about that 1% how it needs to be changed and how it ruins the whole picture.

Some people just need an amount of frustration and opinion enforcing, so that they can live their lives on.

People need to ventilate now and then, it does not bother me.
But the constant bashing and enforcing an unfounded opinion does, luckily there are not al lot of them here.

How bad this livery seems to people, they tend to forget this car:

It is awesome to have the orange back!!

Where can a place I bet on McLaren not winning a race this season? And on Alonso retiring after this year, if not before?

Nobody is predicting a win this season, it would be foolish to do so. This years goal is a podium finish, and 4th in constructors championship. Both of this goals will be tough to crack due to the fact that Renault is getting a proper car this year, and FI looking to be strong. I must say i dont put much hope into Williams.
