Was that on softs or US? The timing was first showing US but now shows softs and he hasn't been back in.

And the irony of him setting a time right after I post Honda's tweet is not lost. Apparently the miscommunication is not just between the PU and chassis folks

Any idea on who that might be?
I read somewhere else that it seems Merc's suspension is deemed legal and RBR not... how actual are those claims?
do we have info on that. This will hamper testing quite a bit I imagine for the affected team(s).
Could be anyone even Ferrari and Mercedes.
Would be amusing if it was Ferrari (NB: Ferrari fan - just one with a sense of irony).
Wasn't it Renault who spent a lot of time in the pits yesterday fitting new parts #justguessing

McLaren have confirmed that the focus of this morning is aero runs, so timing at the moment is of no concern. Still, seems relatively quick - especially with the aero rake attached.

I know is just testing, and everyone is doing their job without the pursuit for a time lap. But i'm looking at the time laps made by Ferrari with medium tyres, and there is a huge gap to other team using the same tyres. Are they runnig with low fuel?

I totally agree, I was a bit surprised to see this time notation, made me smile a bit :)

GA:
Mario Andretti used to say that the ground effect Lotus 79 was painted to the ground. Well, exiting Turn 2 and into Turn 3, where I am watching, both the Mercedes and the Ferrari look like they are painted to the ground. But, to me, Ferrari has used a better undercoat. It really does look good and super consistent.

it s GA, so maybe all hope is false.

As much as we can't draw too many conclusions just yet, I haven't heard anyone (GA included) say that about a Ferrari in a while :)

The standout problem here is how the suspension behaves on all the cars.

On the Mercedes, the suspension is softer and has a lot of lean and roll. Whereas on the Red Bull, it is thought to work by assisting the rake lower as it travels at higher speed.

One is clearly aiding aerodynamics, while the other is not.
You decide. :D
Given what the Red Bull car was doing down the straight i'm pretty sure they'll be nailed too, the inspection just hasn't reached them yet.

They might even have done it on purpose, put a system that is sure to be caught, try to sneak a less agressive one through.

Sheesh Mercedes are just putting away the laps.
Familiar site of the last couple of years in testing.
Almost a bit depressing how good they seem to be again.

So the Sauber is in 3rd with with the 2016 PU.

This shows how much more pace the top teams must have in hand and how pointless keeping score really is at this point.
