Scuderia Ferrari SF70H

Last year the FW and the stuff under the nose wasn't complex enough, "a generation behind", now the diffuser is too complex...
Are you trying to say that being too complex, there's not enough space to further develop, because it's already too complex?

I think he was ironic to all the people who last year said "Last year the FW and the stuff under the nose wasn't complex enough, a generation behind", and now they say "the diffuser is too complex..." just because it's not W08 but SF70H...

Not at all, just a comment on armchair specialists.

Just a note. My original post that started the complexity discussion was merely an observation that Ferrari seemingly have an order of magnitude more flaps and turning vanes than anyone else. Not that it's better or worse, but it's certainly in marked contrast to the RB13 which is extremely simple. However I would be very surprised if the RB was lacking diffuser performance.

Does anyone have some info about the strip in the floor and why they measuring the temperature there? I found only some speculations. From them the most reliable seem to be piping for the gearbox cooling...
Here is another speculation: Cables from/to batteries.

Worried for Ferrari here. This is the opposite of redbull philosophy which is to start simple and understand the flows then upgrade from there. Ferrari has started with very complex mechanisms... Do they understand them already? Will the upgrade path be less painful than last year? I hope so.

Cables to where? MGU-K/H are mounted to the ICE...

They better it is completely in line with last year's diffuser with only a few additions, which I think were even brought during the course of this year testing.

Break by wire.

Again, just a speculation.

Yes, that's the function of the MGU-K...

Maybe they've got some coolant/oil hoses under the floor there rather than in the sidepod, but if they are it'd be a strange route, unless they're hydraulic oil from the rear dampers to the accumulator in the sidepod.

I have another idea...maybe and i say, maybe...the relatively simplicity of RB's diffuser can be compensated by new and discussed suspension with the "hydraulic work". Let me use this word.
When you have a great system that can change the hight from the ground, do you need a complex diffuser that give you more downforce?

imho.
