So Formula E's best track (monaco) is half as good as F1's worse track (monaco) as they only use half of it.
Formula E may be the future, but not yet. I think far more would watch it if they raced on better tracks. If they dont want to race the same tracks as F1 (so it cant be compared and shown up on how slow it currently is) why not go to places like Imola, Estoril, Mugello, Zandvoort, Zolder, Assen in Europe. Or are they worried the cars will be slower than a moto2 bike around Assen Mugello ect.
I Know that this should go into the FE topic but... can't let this question get unanswered .
First of all, FE is slow (at the moment) and they try to make it interesting my putting them on very hard tires where you can do a whole weekend with one set (well, two sets, one for each car). All the wings and stuff are there for show at the moment. Even at a track like monaco they are on a very low downforce level.
The second reason you'll find them in city centers is marketing. It's a big attraction for a brand like Audi or Mercedes to be able to invite their customers and suppliers for a great spectacle in a city center instead of a hard to reach half baked (from a spectator side) like Zandvoort. At the moment the racing comes second.
FE isn't a big challenger for F1 for the next decade at least, but it is for WEC! which is also relies much more on on-track advertisement and marketing with customers and suppliers then F1, where television is the main selling point.
