Yes I've seen it, what corner did he lose it on?

Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

Where are the people yelling "Bad chasis bad chasis", and "terrible PU driveability"? Oh wait, its not a Mclaren...
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Where are the people yelling "Bad chasis bad chasis", and "terrible PU driveability"? Oh wait, its not a Mclaren...
And also the tiny tiny point of being the fastest and best car. But you're right - that's only a minor detail.

I think it's fair to say the McLaren won't be winning any races this year.

Maybe Pat Symonds can help Ted out with these in the future - I mean, I quite like him, but he doesn't really know what he's talking about (everything's a 'nice aero detail'!)

In the same way Renault, Toro Rosso, Force India, Sauber, Haas and Williams probably won't be winning any races either without any unfortunate circumstances for the top runners...

I am getting the impression this year will be another step forward for McLaren. Keen to see how the new Honda engine spec acts during Test 2. I think it's fair to say we'll see a healthy boost in times.

Big difference is Mclaren are known as one of the big 4, the press like to build them up when the facts are no team are given a right to win, you have to go out there and earn it.

One thought occurred to me:

Lewis says overtaking is harder; Max says it's the same. Maybe the Mercedes just finds it more difficult to follow than other cars?

Anecdotally, it's always seemed over the past few seasons that the Mercedes struggles more than other cars in traffic - I don't think there's any real evidence of this but it is a widely held perception. I wonder if it has something to do with their aero philosophy - every element is segmented, more so than other teams, meaning these structures have to work together to produce the desired effect; it the same way a more complex front wing is more affected by wake, is the same not also true with other elements?

Likewise, as they go further and further down this complex philosophy, the worse it gets. Whereas the red bull has a much simpler philosophy so is affected less?

Another random thought.

I think that Mclaren will be just fine, and much better then in 2016. Honda will introduce upgrades without token system this year and with Alonso every car might be on podium. He is Mclaren the best weapon.
For Mercedes, seams that they lost touch with this year longer wheel base on W08, and struggle to understand first signs from feedback.
From the PU side, Ferrari and Renault improved a lot, so I think Mercedes power advantage will lost by not so good concept of W08.
Ferrari will take advantage of these circumstances until Europe races.

I think Ted dumbs thing's down a great deal, he cannot spend that much time in the pits and not learn a thing or two. I like to read between the lines and add what he says to the rest of the information I am able to find and often am able to work out "news" before it hits the press.

Ted often blunders across little snippets that when added to the bigger picture reveals thing's for me. You should not take his apparent ineptitude for dimwittedness.
