Agreed, the Merc and the Ferrari both look incredibly stable.

The HAAS and McLaren both look kinda hard work, and the Williams looks like a complete disaster.

Great hi def. video & awesome engine sounds as they accelerate & decelerate? :D No commentators to block it. Thanks for posting.
An interesting engine sound at 1m55s into the video, as the Renault accelerates after a turn there is a farting sound from the car. The same sound is there 10s later from the Ferrari? Anybody know what's creating that farting sound?

Maybe Liberty will improve the trackside mics this year...
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Hamilton 9Kph down on Bottas?

I think that floor had a clear difference. In fact how in the hell was Hamilton faster?
The floor picked up some damage at some point of Hamilton's run, you act like Mercedes mounted a broken floor into the car to start the day.
If the damage was big it's likely that Hamilton's fastest lap happened before the damage occurred.

As for the top speed, i would bet that Bottas got a nice slipstream at some point of the day.

In other news Ricciardo said he isn't hiding 2s so 1.17 seems unlikely, at least for Red Bull.

Erm no I aren't.

Hamiltons first run was slow. He came into the pits to change set up so his fastest time was after that. Times improved all day Hamilton couldn't keep improving his time because at some point his car developed a fault.

9Kph difference is unusual between team mates. Even more so when the driver complaining of difficulties who also has the slower speed trap is the one setting the best time. It makes one wonder what would have been his time if he had been the one on a clean run with the fastest speed trap.

Or it could just be simply Merc trying out a new floor this week and they simply didn't get it to work in comparison with the simulator data. So they fallbacked to the old floor for Bottas. Maybe a revised floor may arrive to the circuit later on the week.

Did somebody noticed how little the Ferrari this year uses measuring tools in those tests? (aero-vise)

If you don't measure anything you can't have correlation problems :D

Anyway RAI just did few laps with aerorakes on the rear wheels and pitot tubes on rear wings

Looking at this video, both cars look fast, but man that Ferrari is so glued to the asphalt! #-o ... they are the clear favorites, unless Merc's heavily sandbagging (which I don't believe).

Everyone is sandbagging to some extent, I still think Mercedes has atleast 2-3% more PU performance and that will probably be the difference, I wouldn't declare Ferrari to be the clear favorites.
