Massa did 1.20.0 on softs yesterday.
True but still looking at the Merc time on SS in comparison today.
He just lowered to 19.9

Either top 3 is seriously sandbagging or Merc has built a rocket of a power unit!!!
Mercedes AMG + Hamilton => dreamteam!
If you can't beat'em, call Masi!

I can see why Ricciardo is slightly worried.

on f1today it appears that massa did the lap in US in autosport on softs. Anyway the speed trap for Massa just skyrocketed to 290km/h, the best so far in testing. maybe merc PU is giving full beans finally? (just turn it to 11 while still doing sustainable program or is that the quali mode rests to be seen)

The 19.909 was on softs.

Massa on US is 19.487 close to 2 tenths slower than Valtteri on SS.

Indeed I wonder if Williams have turned it up to 11 but if the works team hasn't.

Ferrari could (I did say could) be looking at the timing screens for the Williams and having the colour draining from their faces.

If Williams are genuinely this quick in race conditions, it could be the most triumphant return from retirement in the history of F1...

I did have a chuckle at the thought of Massa finally getting his WDC the year he should be sat with his feet up.

At some point the highest engine modes will have to be tried in testing. There's no point turning up in Aussie and simply hoping for the best.
Perhaps the Williams is a better car than people assume. Maybe they have made great strides with their suspension that aren't obvious from just looking at the thing. It can't all be engine-dependent because the Findia hasn't done much yet.

It was a fluid system problem, Kimi is back on track.

I wonder if there's any point them going to the Australia at all! It looks like the whole weekend will be another test session for them.
