Scuderia Ferrari SF70H

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

As other pointed out it's the oddly looking not carbon fiber patch on the right.
I don't know what it is but usually teams don't bother placing extra sticker on the car unless it's a sponsor, and it's been there since the launch car.
It might be nothing but that's why we come here, to discuss what might be something of interest or not.
Exactly... and no one has concrete reasons for all the heat sensors on the floor board so they might be related?
It is most likely a heat dissapation trick, much like the aluminum or cooper heat planes used in laptops' motherboards.

In mother boarda they use airflow generated from the fans to outsend the heat through the planes. In Ferrari's case, they use regular floor airflow to dissapate the heat, which to my mind means that the airflow will be even more energized heading towards the difuser, much like the EBDs, although with lesser effect. But my God this is very clever. :wtf:
I dont think it is a heat pipe on Ferrari, more like regular piping for coolant. However if it is heatpipe then, well done Ferrari :)...

Will be interesting to see what the underside looks like, whether it shows same or similar CF patterns...
AeroGimli.x

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

On autosport plus it claims ferrari is carrying coolant liquids from sidepods through the floor to engine. The only downside is if another car damages the floor their screwed, but if that much floor gets damaged your probably going to be in trouble anyway. Simple but innovative

If it is a tube, the diameter doesn't look large enough to move the volume required for engine coolant and the end point looks more like the gearbox than engine. Gearbox oil volume is much smaller.

Your right it also mentioned gearbox oil as well.

Looks like the Ferrari boys got to the accident scene very quickly to cover both the top & bottom of the car.

They are really had to catch when using crap lenses... :)
Original file is 6000x4000 this is downscaled xD

I liked the Ferrari most of all when looking at it live... Looks well made and detailed!

There was same talk about bargeboards and how drivers step in/out to the monopost. In this video you can see Vettel exiting the car pretty easy. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JsbzFow47Y (~0:42)

It can be just an optical deformation (though, a white track line is straight) but the floor edge does not look straight here

I thought I noticed this in some pics from last week's test as well, but I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. If it is flexing, it could be related to the strip in the floor that Ferrari keeps measuring the temperature of?

Talking about floor:

today's floor hasn't any "black channel" over it
