Like I said - borderline story telling... Jokes aside, I have some Formula Student CFD experience and intuition and those streamlines look decently uniform suggesting that this is how the airflow goes in this zone. Flap connecting barge board and tub is very aggressive, front wishbones are at an angle so that's one part of why it bends that way. The other - leading edge on the floor is bigger and has a bigger radius allowing more air to come under to this very low pressure zone, thus creating stronger suction zone. Diffuser being bigger and stronger probably helps also, as downstream flow is also influencing upstream flow (all things being equal, diffuser creating stronger suction will create stronger suction around floor leading edge etc)...Jef Patat wrote:Let us rephrase that. Visflow from the McLaren actually looks pretty good. I think the overal aero/suspension package on the McLaren is on top of its game, better than Red Bull, its only lacking the most important thing... Horses. And. if we compare to the other day where the bargeboard flow conditioner is isolated, you can see exactly where the flow pass the sidepods, which looks pretty good i think
