Mercedes will probably know who's the fastest between Hamilton and Bottas already and so will the drivers.

Hamilton would do well to beat that lap by Bottas, it looked very impressive indeed.

Thanks, havent been able to see much of this years tests. I think Bottas can be a bit of a pita for Ham, maybe not on every circuit but here and there...

Mercedes seem to be playing the same tune as last year, Hamilton not happy with the balance and other teams really close

Mclaren and Honda don't appear to be working as a team at all, I have a bad feeling about this. I know it's testing and Honda may find more power and reliability but it seems like they have a huge crack between them, Mclaren and Honda.

Stunning lap. I ran it side-by-side with last year's pole lap, by the end of the lap as the 2016 car was exiting the last corner the 2017 car was already going in to T1.

Loving the sound on downchanges! And there is definitely a raspier note(on board) to the engine when going up the gears too.

I'm at Barcelona today and I'm really going to savour any laps Alonso completes over the next 24hrs as I am seriously concerned they may well be his last laps in an F1 car.

Pretty good from Massa.

In this article here (in portuguese so be aware) http://globoesporte.globo.com/motor/for ... lgado.html, Felipe admits what he did yesterday was pretty much what Williams can do but he's very happy and excited even(his words) with the car.

He also complimented the new Pirelli's and is happy to get away from "granny driving"(that was on a different article),

Today is Vettel's last day in the car, so I fully expect him to run both the softer tyre compounds - would be very weird (and in my opinion foolish) not to give each driver a chance to try them at least once.

Obviously this partly depends on how they get on in terms of issues; it was mentioned in the team thread that Kimi's spin might have been caused by drivability issues with the new PU and that seems plausible from the look of it, but that could be a software thing and hence not a major fix. Still, you'd expect they might spend much of the morning trying to ensure it's resolved.

There's no doubt in my mind that - if Vettel did a 1.19:9 on softs last week, he can break well into the 18's on ss or us and the improvements made since (not to say others also can't). But I suspect Ferrari, after the positive reviews of the initial test, will try to fly a bit under the radar this week and not set anything too obviously flashy.

Somebody is not happy, and noone can blaim him :-/
I'm kind of in 2 camps over it.
It was Alonso who walked away. He made that choice.

Yes he was sold a pup but he chose to 'buy' it.

Neither he or McClaren are faultless in this.
He took a decision which is not paying off but come one!, he is the less responsible guy in this situation.

He took the decision for his own ends.
That was his choice the fact he is in this mess is down to his decision.

Honda went into this unprepared, McClaren were to blasé and Alonso was just out for himself and walked out on a contract.

It's a massive crap pie everyone needs to take a slice.

But we can only accuse Alonso for being lured by some brighty promises from Honda and McLaren. He was naive perhaps because he was desperated to leave Ferrari and the be part of the glorious history of McLaren-Honda.

Wrong (the highlighted). He was desperate to win another championship, which he was convinced that he can't do with Ferrari. He was probably, falsely inspired by Lewis' decision to leave McLaren, go to Mercedes, while they were in transformation.

Some posts had to be removed yesterday due taking a walk with facts and keep insisting on them even though clearly proven wrong by other members. Rules are a bit more loose in here, but that still does not mean one should be using "alternative facts".
