And they need US to get in the 1:21's. Ouch!
I hope this only shows how much they have to detune the engine, because I don't like the alternative..
The PU is obviously detuned, if not they couldn´t do a proper test....if doing a test with a detuned and weak PU can be described as "proper".

Let's just see what happens after lunch. I reckon we'll see times tumble again.

Of course it is detuned. However, since Hasegawa said they have a different PU iteration in the car since yesterday (although still not the Melbourne spec), I just hoped they would be able to turn it up one notch. Well, at least it is not breaking down.

Edit: What JefPatat said :)

Autosport:

Vettel goes quicker – a 1m13.314s. A fraction slower than Bottas's best yesterday. BUT – Vettel backed off on the main straight...

(should be 1m19.314)

Edit:
F1Today:
After two purple sectors, he crossed the line just doing 213 km/h. The German clearly backed off in the last sector.

Vet to finshline no DRS, not on full throttle. .1.19.314

That's your definition on sandbagging right there: backing off on the straight. Could easily be another 0.5-1s, or more.

That's quick... I hope there's an onboard so we can compare with Bottas.

Obviously I'm leaning towards SS. Who has the more reliable coverage?
Autosport shows the fastest time and the tire that it was set on. F1today shows fastest time + the current tire being used. :)

But this is obvious. That is not sandbagging that is not so wise at all. Because they reveal the sector times from 1&2. Unless they don't give a damm and just follow testing program.

Well I don't think Bottas was pushing very hard either. Might we finally get a battle between Merc, Ferrari and possibly Williams/Red Bull?

Maybe it's more about not fully showing what the PU can do.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is a memorable moment as the McLaren of Vandoorne is now the only car actually driving on track!

Karma is such a b*tch! It also caused the first red flag. That bit me right in the bud!
