F1 Seasons Novelties

Post

I am thinking to start some posts for each F1 season novelties (new aero and mechanical parts that were first introduced in every F1 season ) .

This kind of threads can be really interesting because they would show F1 aero and mechanical devices origins , i mean which team first introduced it and to what degree it has changed till now .

What do you say about it :?: Do you find this kind of posts interesting as i do :?:

Great idea. And bound to create some heated discussion: did Ferrari really "invent" the F1 wing?

They were the first (weren't they?) with the automatic/semi-automatic transmission.

Who was the first to go to the rear engine? (It was NOT Cooper)

The first "mid engine" race car appeared at the 1923 Grand Prix of Italy at Monza. It was the Benz Tropfenwagen. ("tear drop car")

The unsupercharged 1991 cc twin cam 65 BHP Benz had it's engine mounted behind the driver, built in with a transaxle, swing axle independent rear suspension and inboard brakes.
