Encouraging start for Alonso... just hope we don't get a repeat of yesterday's failures. As someone previously said, it would be nice if they just whacked the power right up to max and saw how fast the Honda PU can go.

Is anyone else a little disappointed?

What I mean is I think it's pretty apparent that at least 2 cars can easily set a 1.18.x if not a 1.17.x. However unless we have a massive change of attitude I doubt anyone will bother to even set a high 1.18.x.

I know it's preseason testing. But I can't help but feel that there is a HUGE amount being left in pockets.

This is awesome...but has anyone got the Mercedes/Red Bull race simulations for side-by-side comparison (I know they did different things on different tyres...but still).

Thanks :)

I think Hamilton this afternoon will want to put the hammer down, Vettel may respond so an 18.5 or lower might be reasonable as the fastest.

The number 1 priority on their testing-checklist is probably a race simulation.
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel

If they can do a race simulation I would be pleasantly surprised.

Autosport
09:28 Looks like Bottas has started a race sim now, his pace settling into the 1m22s.
09:22 Softs for the Finn, and he goes second with a 1m21.678s.
Im going to assume Autosport are talking complete crap here. As if thats the start of a race sim then season over

Bloody hell that had me scratching my head.

Autosport- 'Green sectors everywhere now - Bottas posts a 1m23.311s on softs, and Verstappen improves to a 1m20.110s.'.
Bottas actually set a 1m21.311s. If he had set a 1m23.311s he wouldn't have seen green sectors at all.

This is getting beyond funny and clearly beyond a joke now. The McClaren has broken down again.
