The flat bits on the outer diffuser edge seem to be gone again, I never understood how that was supposed to work.
I saw a picture of the Merc with a similar little piece there - also removed now.

They did it in testing as well - but both at same time.

That bit connecting the bargeboard to the body has a new shape. Also some new winglets on top of the sidepod and an extra piece on the front corner of the floor. At least some evolvement on the car.

Actually, no - if you've been watching at all, you'll see that lots of other cars do *not* look stable while doing similar lap times to the McLaren.

It's very clear that the McLaren is a good chassis with a bad engine, while the ForceIndia and the Sauber are meh chassis with good engines.

Actually Alonso said he´s gone in full attack mode the whole practice session, so no, sorry but your statement is far from true. Do you remember Minardi? They were even slower, and they never looked as well planted, their drivers were constantly fighting with the car

As stated, it´s easy to see that´s a good chassis, drivers don´t need to fight with the car, but I guess nowadays bashing McHonda is too tempting and since their PUs didn´t blow out in pieces as some were expecting...

It does look very well behaved, even with Alonso's aggressive driving style. Definitely a good sign of a decent chassis under there. Even when he gets out of shape towards the end of the lap by being too greedy on the inside kerb, the car is very quick to stabilise itself and react well to Alonso's correction.

There's some lovely details evolving around the bardgeboard and the front of the floor, despite the lack of running during testing. The confidence is rebuilding in me!
