No, I think only if they go over their 4 allowed.
This is just maybe a little odd, although probably just precautionary to ensure an event free qualifying.

Last season rosberg was 3.5 tenths behind in Australia.

Bott as just under 3 tenths behind.

Not as bad as people thought it would be? His gap may be more pronounced than Nicosia was though as now ferrari can jump in that gap!

Cars weren't as fast as advertised here, Hamilton's 2016 Mercedes would line up 7th here(on SS), maybe the tarmac and the harder tires, need to wait for China to see.

Does 107% rule apply to Q1 fastest time or overall fastest time in qualy? If it applies to fastest time overall, Palmer shouldn't be allowed to start.

107% of the Q1 time i believe.
If it was against Q3 time, the weather could put everyone out from Q1 and Q2 if its wet in Q1 and drying up for Q3

That's gonna be the case on every race this year, it might be magnified on the Melbourne tarmac, but there's no getting away from the fact that these tires are gonna leave less rubber behind.

I believe it will be Merc 1-2 if Vettel does not jump Hamilton on the start.

I am looking forward to see how Bottas will act in case he is in position to fight Hamilton.

Still, that does put a question mark over Ferrari's reliability.

Bottas clearly on different aero setup as he's 2kmh faster by the start/finish mark but ends up 4kmh slower on the end of the straight
