The new regs seem to be a dud so far....tyres too durable....wings too wide...DRS not effective even on the back straight.....no real chance for alternate strat....
imo they need to take 1 of those factors out.....
perhaps reintroduce refueling to spice up the strats?

OP thinks refuelling is the solution, another nonsense that can't die after 'durable tyres will help overtaking' and 'pushing 100% 1 stoppers are exciting'. I watched the second half only, except for Grosjean's overtakes nothing interesting. Is the first part worth watching? Probably will anyway.

Verstappen - what a whiner, begging for FIA's help again . Look, if the FIA hadn't gifted you position with bogus penalties, maybe you wouldn't have to deal with Grosjean in the first place. Why did they pit Vet again during the SC after the Sauber crashed?

They didn't pit VET again, he had to pass through pit lane and put the limiter on because the main straight was closed due to GIO's debrids. That was unlucky for him.

Mercedes-Ferrari-Red Bull-Red Bull-Ferrari-Mercedes. Red Bull being the surprise of the weekend which I'm rather thankful for.

Red Bull clearly have improvements in them too.

Red Bull is still running the old MGU, which is down on power compared to the new MGU AND IMPORTANTLY, 5-6 kg heavier. They still have a vanilla car, with respect to Aero. On a track like China with one of the longest straight if they manage such performance, it should give them confidence to improve as the season progresses.

I've been saying since testing, the winner will be the one that makes the least mistakes, it's really close.

Agreed and what is best is that Red Bull seem to be closer than we were led to believe.

They are certainly closer in the race, they'll be much better once the Renault upgrades start coming in, and the chassis is more developed.

Dude, he just had a better pace every single lap he was in control. Max switched with new tires and did fastest lap and then Lewis on next lap with very old tires set the fastest lap (taking vettel +1,5 sec on a single lap). He just was in control today so no one to blame except Giovinazzi.
Without his stunt we could have a really nice race just because some of them was already on slick and others on wet tires missing already the window so they at the time with every lap passed gap will close around 4-5 seconds. From that moment when SC it was so CLEAR that no one can fight and catch LEWIS.
This was a crap race so nothing to fight between you lewis and vettel fans...

The Ferrari pit call wasn't a bad one, unfortunately for them Giovinazzi screwed their plans.
I think Hamilton had a little bit of an edge today anyways.

It's better to see drivers fighting for the overtake than watching the drive by.

I agree but if it was that much better then it makes you wonder why Mercedes's AND Ferrari avoided it like the plague.

Maybe Neither Mercedes or Ferrari thought they could get the laps out of it that Red Bull just have OR they didn't think it had enough better pace to use them.

VET's overtake on RIC was excellent, unluckily he lost way too much time behind RAI (and RIC too of course).

RAI really needs to improve his pace, otherwise he'll be destroyed this year by his team mate.

It's so absurd, Vettel was at no point leading the race(unlike HAM last week) yet they are already claiming that Vettel had the win in hand even with HAMILTON pulling away from him at ease.

you mean avoiding SS tyres? Well they didn't have any fresh set. Hamilton had 2 new sets of softs, Ferrari had only one. Last stint Vettel drove on used set.

Overall pitty that Giovinazzi crashed. But yeah, I was enjoying some fun overtakings

RAI is done, finished, been so since 2009. MAS outpaced him, ALO, GRO(sometimes) and now VET. Stick a fork in him, he has been done a long time ago.
