Scuderia Ferrari SF70H

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The different twill weave in the bulge area is quite interesting.
We can clearly see that on the bulge they have used probably 3k weave and from there backwards they used 12k.
Since we know that 12k is stiffer than 3k maybe they are trying to make the bulge area more flexible?

Or maybe it's just a cover and doesn't need to serve as a structural component?

They seem very reluctant to remove at least some of the pieces of sidepod intake and show the world what they did. Shame :(
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Where is the second blower connected? One goes to brakes and the second into middle of the sidepod?

More complex shape and more slots meant it is designed with clean air in mind. And more finer Aero details means more sensitivity to dirty air.

The new floor cutout seems to flex a lot less, maybe that degree of flexing was not what the team wanted.

So they aim for pole this weekend :)

Are you sure about that? The additional slot in the mainplane will help keep flow over the underside of the wing energized and reduce the likelihood of boundary layer separation/stalling. This would seem more likely to decrease the sensitivity to dirty air, not increase it.
