And if he had tried it and they both retired you would lay into Hamilton for that. In fact if he had gone past you would no doubt find a reason to lambast him for endangering both the Mercedes.

Not at all but do you really believe Hamilton would let Bottas by in the same situation, not a prayer I'm afraid. Hamilton clearly didn't have the pace to pass Bottas.
In the same situation? LMFAO.

We learned one thing last weekend. Bottas needed a DRS failure on Hamiltons car to get pole and his race pace is nowhere near as good. In what fantasy world would Hamilton need to Let Bottas past to chase down for the win.
That DRS failure that only appeared the day after qualifying? Simple question, was Hamilton fast enough to pass Bottas on his own?

Jesus christ, some guys are writing off Bottas after ONE race :D this is crazy....
(If he was having problems it makes sense that they let Ham in front, second place might be second place but every second matters in F1...)

Oh yes that would be good 'Erm Lewis you Remember how Bottas let you past earlier? Well can you slow down so he can make up the 15 SECONDS and get that place back?'.
Why not? Bottas beat Hamilton on merit in qualifying and this is how he's rewarded.
Why not? Why not give 15 seconds up?

Yeah thanks for confirming you attitude towards Hamilton.

He was giving up a position that's it, it doesn't matter how many seconds he had to concede.

One race? That was race 3. Bottas was nowhere in race 1, cocked up in race 2 and now was way off the pace in race 3. How much longer do Mercedes wait? Until the WDC is out of reach?

I'm sorry but seriously don't be ridiculous. You are again showing your agenda and making a fool out of yourself in the process.

In fact I'll save you making and more silly comments by stopping this conversation here.

Grow up will ya, there's no agenda at all. Mercedes really expects the fans to believe they are free to race when it's clear to see they are not. I don't care about team orders but don't insult us and make out that you are any different to a team like Ferrari.

Seeing as though he was let past twice then yes why shouldn't he?

Mercedes lays importance on winning and it demands that it's employees adhere to their decision making. Whether Bottas liked it, whether he volunteered it doesn't count. He was asked to do what the Management team thought was right for the interests of the team and he did. Like it or not, it was Mercedes being too naive in anticipating some kind of miracle to happen that would suddenly make Bottas' car become a rocketship. They waited too long, despite the knowledge that his tires are messed up with tire pressures and he is holding up Lewis who had far better pace at that point. By the time they took the decision, it was a little too late. If the blame goes to the team for malfunctioning of the equipment at the start that screwed up his tires, he should take blame for not being fast enough after the pit stops.
In Monaco last year, Nico had no pace and the race was getting away and even then they took too long to ask Nico move over. So, it's that simple. There is no question of whether someone volunteered or not, it simply doesn't matter. This is not Bride and Groom at the church to seek their consent.

With this thought process, you are only bound for more agony as the season progresses. Good luck to you on that.

Formula 1 world champions Mercedes have indicated they may increasingly have to favour Lewis Hamilton over new team mate Valtteri Bottas to counter the threat posed by Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.

Ah point taken...

Jesus christ, some guys are writing off Bottas after THREE races :D this is crazy....

It's not too hard to figure out that he lost out in the first phase of the race due to tire issues and maybe his setup was more biased to qualy which hurt him for the rest of the race...
(If i'm not mistaken he finished less than two secs behind HAM in Australia, that's hardly "nowhere"...)

I don't have a problem with it but let's not try and pretend that Bottas is not a clear number 2.

Well seeing as he was still unable to beat Hamilton who was in a car that was down on power.

Like I said Mercedes may want to give both drivers a fair crack however when you have Vettel who is the clear number 1 driver at Ferrari. They the have a couple of choices.

Either they pull rank on Bottas who so far has looked slower than he team mate anyway of they let them race which probably just means him holding his team mate back at times and just give Vettel the WDC.
