Indeed, if that picture is real surely there must be body work connecting to it? I can't imagine they would leave it finished like that, the letters aren't even finished over the mesh. Unless it's the angle of the picture and you can only see the letters square to the sidepods.

I'm reasonably certain that's just the panel gap/hole they use to mount the barge boards, and not any kind of air vent.

There is a duct running behind the hole as you can see on the side pod further from he camera. A double purpose then. To mount the barge boards and also an air vent. Now we just have to look for where the hole is on the barge boards.

Yeah, that's what i had in mind, a bargeboard with a vent in it somewhere.

That has always been on the car though, it was just a bit further around previously. I imagine they've changed the turning vane mountings somewhat, I think it's just the bare carbon tub + a few small sanded patches of epoxy filler.

The old mount hole was tiny on the bottom of the "s" this new mount is considerably bigger, we might get a better picture tomorrow to be sure what's going on.

There is no duct on the other side. There is the witness mark of where the radiator sits and there is the upper return bodywork that forms the top of the radiator intake duct. Nothing connects to the "hole".

If you look at the bodywork in the upper part of the picture, you can see a similar "hole" where the turning vane mounted. Ergo, the new "hole" is most likely a sign of a revised turning vane / sidepod relationship, not a cooling outlet.
