No, simply because if I recall correctly, BMW as well as Williams had a very similar system in place.

BOOMERANG MIRRORS

In Autralian Grand Prix 2007 Red Bull Racing introduced their special boomerang mirrors. They proved this name once more in 2008. The mirros are moved to the sidepods each time for the Australian GP but they always return to the more traditional position on the sides of the cockpit for the next race. This is a very Australian development indeed and may be related to Mark Webber's arrival to RBR.
