The new aero on toyota

Post

Anybody noticed what the Toyota's new aero improvements are?
I spotted these:

I didn't watch the practise session, so what i can see by these pictures is that sidepods are slimmer, they have got an airbox conditioner wing, new outlets on top of the sidepods. And if I'm not mistaken I'd say slimmer nose. The pictures don't really tell that much, so i can't really say.
P.S just look at the way the Panasonic logo is positioned up in the new sidepod and low in the old one. The side flip-up goes lower and is longer in the new sidepod.

Things I notice:

- new front wing that resembles more that one of Ferrari
- a thinner and smaller nose point, with especially the front wing connection to the nose resembling Renault's
- A new diffuser
- A midwing we have not seen before on the Toyota
- Flipups that start from lower to the ground
- New winglets after the also new chimneys
- Reshaped sidepods, but the height seems to be the same at its highest point. I guess they left the radiator position intact
- There are turning vanes on the new car, which were smaller or non-existent on the previous one

I read somewhere that the nose is slimmer or narrower, side pods are contoured more. The engine also has a 2% power increase plus a diet as well. I think formula 1 web site, in an interview with Toyota.
Not sure about the drivers position but maybe. Interesting they are following with the hot air vents like renault and others. The front wing has more of a gentle curve through the length instead of just the center. These are the first pictures I've seen. The new package looks promising. :D

but judging from the times and driver comments, this is not a Mclaren like turnaround ,more of a Williams two step forward two back in the form of pirouettes...
in stark contrast to Sauber they seem to be not convinced it is a good idea to bring untested parts to the track...seems their tunnel work translates a bit more unpredictable to track use....

Keep in mind the drivers were driving on old tyres to test setup, and the car had not been tested before with all the new elements fitted.

In fact, no new aeodynamic part had been tested before

yes of course..they don´t want to know just how fast they are but concentrate on race setup......did they bring the old tyres from silverstone?
Seriously,if I´m trying new parts on a race weekend, why don´t you let the third driver do as much running with the new car as possible???
The TF104 is officially a box of --- why bring it to hockenheim then?IMO
they don´t trust what they have invented...but I would be happy if they prove me wrong and have a good points scoring weekend.good luck to them!

maybe because they don't have a third TF104B...
That was the same with the F2002 a while ago, and the MP4-19B

As with BAR the Toyota aero evolution is rather prosaic. Is there an (aero) update on the BAR?

The Ferrari 2 element front wing appears to be the most dramatic development and the biggest surprise. Discuss.

Almost everybody copies Ferrari... no argument there.
Bring back wider rear wings, V10s, and tobacco advertisements
