Jenson and BAR's success

Post

Don't you think BAR's recent sudden success has gone to Jenson Button's head? I mean before this season i thought he was a nice chap and was hoping for bar to perform as well as they did in the winter tests. But now he is starting to act like some major star. Just like BAR would always had been as good as it is now, and that he is therefore allowed to judge other people.

Like he said in an interview that this weekend there will be five teams fighting for the win. He said BAR will be fighting for the victory, so will renault, and ferrari, and Williams and in his own words: "it feels strange saying this-Mclaren" Like BAR would have always been fighting for victories, and oh, now some Mclaren team has risen up to challenge them.
The truth is that now that mclaren has got their act back together, the only way button will make it to the podium anymore is when ferrari or mclaren have a technical failure. And when williams finally gets back in their own level, a fifth position for bar will be worth celebrating.
See, there are a few things that make bar look a bit better than what it actually is. First of all, the two major teams infront of them were having major issues. So the team that came after ferrari was either bar or renault, and this made ferrari seem so manipulative, they didn't have proper competitors.
Then the other thing worth noticing, which nobody ever pays any attention to is that BAR can run three cars on friday. That is a major help in findin the ideal setup, when the third car can do as many laps as it wants.

So Button can demand "a better car" from the team, as their current one isn't holding up to the rising challenge from mclaren or williams, but that won't happen, as it happens that most of their success has come from other peoples failures.

I agree with you Bernard.
I think JB is acting a little bit like a star and BAR's recent success has been a bit inflated.

However, with recent long term committment by Honda, i think BAR maybe a team to watch out for in the future... I think Honda maybe looking for the glory days of winning and with their committment to engine AND chassis development, BAR very well could win some races in the future... just my opinion tho...

Well, we should wait till the end of the season to see what happens. I have never doubted BAR since Australia and I can still see them winning podiums along w/ Renault and McLaren.

As for Williams, their car is new territory for them, so I think it will be very hard for them to maximize its potential.

It can also be said that McLaren's success at Silverstone could be a fluke too, so we have to also wait for their run towards the end of the season to really see where they are.
