We have to remember Kimi has had 2 DNF till now and brake issue in Canada and front tyre issue in Silverstone. WCC could have been closer, the team knows the details better than us and they will decide whether to keep Kimi or not on that, whether he is struggling or just plain slow nobody knows, we have seen glimpses of old Kimi at times, sometimes it gives the feeling that he is leashed like yesterdays race, like he doesn't know it yet that he is their No2 driver and the balance would never be perfect for him.
- Brake issue in Canada? "Cost" him switch places with Vettel. Before that he went off on the grass and lost places to two much slower cars: Ricciardo and Perez during first laps. On top of another poor Q and start combination in the joint quickest car.

- DNF in Baku was half self inflicted after he ruined his own race with a bad attempt on the first lap
- DNF in Spain was fully self inflicted after (colour me shocked) another first lap lack of skills display.

You cannot spin Raikkonen's season as an outright low quality performance disaster especially if you throw as the main defence three random half truths or rather half lies without a context and ignore everything else  .

Something off-topic, not that he's linked to anything at all, but what happened to Felix Rosenqvist?

I thought he's one of those young drivers that has a lot of potential. Just a lack of funding to be on the big stage?

I know, but despite his stats in the lower classes, doesn't he have potential in F1?

It took him a little too long to win the F3 championship and that kinda killed his momentum.
He's really good in F-E though, should challenge for the title next year i think.

Maybe the Swedish investors in Sauber should take a look at him instead of Marcus.

And a true street course specialist as well. Just look at his Macau F3 and Indy Lights stats.

Going into the summer break I guess we will not see much move:
- Don Quixote and Sancho Panza will stay.
- The cock and his Finnish sidekick will also stay.
- That leaves no room for the lemonade boys.

Really I think the only interest this year was going to be unlocked by Kimi being replaced. Now that's unlikely to happen the big exciting question mark of who races in red is gone.

He will be replaced, if he attacks Vettel and ignores team orders. Something he would probably not do, but you never know if something snaps inside of him.

I see kimi going to mclaren for his last year or two in F1. I think he is super frustrated this year.
Bottas does fancy his chances better against vettel. Kimi has shown he can outpace vettel quite frequently and so bottas would see that as an opening to increase his chances of being wdc. Hamilton is just too fast for him.
If it looks like Hamilton will walk away with the championship this year, Alonso will be paired to him as a way of mercedes trying to Humble lewis. Mercedes is pretty much Hamilton's team with bottas in it. It will be more obvious should lewis win this year.
Kimi having lost his seat will retire with mclaren. Harking back to his heyday. No politics there, no #1 or #2 driver politics and a team willing to develop a car to his liking. Vandorne is also a well behaved guy. Should be a nice retirement home for kimi. Also it looks like honda will make a proper engine for next year.
For Sure!!

Frequently? I must be following another season... :?

Kimi won´t go to McLaren. I can imagine how bad his performance would be if he finds a shitty car and a one which doesn´t adapt to his driving style.

Looks like Sauber's seats are going to filled by Ferrari drivers.

James Allen wrote:Ferrari chairman Sergio Marchionne made an unexpected visit to the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday. After the race he gave some details of how he sees the renewal of the engine supply deal with Sauber.

“It’s a very positive thing for us; it’s a chance to have a junior team. We have a pair of exceptional drivers we need to run,” he told Italian media.

Marchionne is referring to Charles Leclerc, the runaway leader of the FIA F2 Championship and Antonio Giovinazzi, Ferrari’s official reserve driver.
Sauce.

So I guess it's goodbye to Ericsson and Wehrlein?

McLaren won't take Kimi.

Fixed that for you!

Kimi will drive for Ferrari in 2018.
