So now you have added a lip above each screen, dont forget the 2 cameras as well, and the wiring from each camera. Plus any fitting for each screen plus the cameras will need some housing so they dont get wet or dirty.Manoah2u wrote: ↑04 Aug 2017, 09:56eh no. facts tells you otherwise.
iphone 7 weighs 138 grams including battery. battery weighs about 30 grams. that equals 108 grams without battery.
mirror weight: 160g per unit , right here specified on f1technical.
that's over 50 grams lighter on each side, a 100 grams in total.
how is sunlight going to be direct on them in a frigging tight f1 cockpit. at the worst, they'll put a small lip on the top and add an anti-reflective layer on top of it, really not an issue.
So there is probably a similar weight (being generous to the camera, screens ect ect) and all that for a small screen.
Using a phone, tablet, laptop, tv outside is crap, even if you use anti glare screens ect, it's way off a mirror. So I just don't see why a screen would be beneficial. And where would they put 2 screens on the Williams ? A mirror is perfectly places to take a last look as you are turning into a corner.
