Vettel had a tow
That tow was worth like 0.05s max. Rai was way too much ahead of him to make any significant difference.

Red Bull qualifying standing -> Verstappen (8) to Ricciardo (4). So, all the speed from Ric is vanishing. If not for misfortune in races for Max, he would be comfortably leading the intra-team battle.

That's a result I didn't expect, Bottas underperformed a bit, so did Raikkonen when it really was important. Verstappen excellent driving!

Tow surely helped the german.
Ferrari had their number two driver do whatever was needed to get their number one driver up in the front row. Vettel has been slower than Kimi all weekend, they had to do something.
Come on! stop with the silver glasses!
Mercedes told the new engine is ultra powerful but the result is very close (tow included) if we compare it with the last "mercedes track" qualy..... Lauda and Wolf were not so euphoric at the end....
Sky was showing the tow and tbh if there was any it was extremely minimal. Raikkonen made mistake on his run but was mega in S1. Usual suspects will talk about dark magic and flying unicorns in red but fact is Vettel banked out his best lap at right time. Must be horrible when he is 2 tenths of on 7km power track and Merc has brand new engine.

Killer lap by Lewis, Pretty awesome message delivered by Ross. Really looking forward to Sunday.

For the sake of interest please Seb dont botch it on start. If Hamilton by the end of lap 1 has bottas behind him than its race over.
Merc is too strong in first sector....the only chance for Vettel is to keep the second place vs Bottas and make an undercut.

Worth maybe a little more than that but it didn't affect the results . He was still on for P2

Where did Raikonnen give Vettel the tow? was it in S1 or S3?
Anyways, Rai was the faster Ferrari driver all weekend. if he didn't "mess up" his final lap he would have even been close to Lewis imo. Looking at his sector times it's obvious he was the second fastest man and should have been in P2 today, if not P1.

That tow wasnt that effective because Kimi was too far away. It was S3, the straight after blanchimont

Where can there be found sector times for each lap during the Qualy? Looking on the FIA website, but coming up short...
AeroGimli.x

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

That tow was critical and significant for Vettel. Look at the split times, He gained a lot on Mercedes at S3. Without that it would have been neck and neck between him and Bottas. Lucky day for him. Still very good effort =D>

He said it was worth 0.2. He would have still nicked it by 0.1 from Bottas.

Do you ever have anything but codswallop to post?

Kimi messed up his lap and if then he provides a tow to aid Seb, it's good team work and part of his job.

If there is any truth to this 'Kimi is a number 2' BS, Kimi himself is to blame. He's been utterly trumped by Seb for the 3rd year running and dare I say, Seb has even earned the right to be number 1. However, I'm sure there is no such no.1 and no.2 nonsense.

Kimi has been the faster driver all weekend, but when push came to shove, he blew it as he so often has in his Ferrari career.

For all those who believe this conspiracy crap and pretend like Kimi is being wronged, he just renewed again for Ferrari. So, he either accepts his place or there is no such hierarchy which I believe is the case.

Bottom line is that Sebastian Vettel is by far the better driver.
