Redbull (Max) look uncharacteristically strong on the soft tire... gap is closing slowly and i doubt they are going to stop again. Maybe just RB running more aggressive vs Hamilton conserving tires to not run into problems later?

Surprisingly better under hotter temperatures, but I think Merc's straightline speed will hold the lead against that Red Bull. Slowly it will eat away Max' tire life.

You are forgetting about Hamilton's tyre degradation. All he needs to do is keep Hamilton out of operating temperature window. Then he might stand a chance.

I think that comment was in response to whether bottas could catch ricciardo.

That said, you're right - the winner of this race comes entirely down to "will Hamilton be able to keep his tyres cool enough to last to the end"
