Driver #1 worries about keeping his car within the track limits, and driver #2 does not. Of course driver #2 has a mental advantage. One less thing to worry about. Whether he gains time at that particular stage or not. He's more relaxed and might gain time somewhere else. Leaving the track should be penalized. Always. Or never. But I prefer always.
Crickey! Fully deserved penalty then.NathanOlder wrote: ↑22 Oct 2017, 23:07http://picpaste.com/20171022_220532-2e6NH5J7.jpg

Phil, Max didnt need to be here. He had room to keep wheels on the track
Well then it wasn't him leaving the track to overtake as the room was there. So he has just been penalised for leaving the track. Nice 1 stewards.NathanOlder wrote: ↑22 Oct 2017, 23:07http://picpaste.com/20171022_220532-2e6NH5J7.jpg

You cant honestly say Max should have been allowed to do what he did.Restomaniac wrote: ↑22 Oct 2017, 23:09Exactly.notsofast wrote: ↑22 Oct 2017, 23:03This whole concept of "gaining an advantage" is rubbish. Instead the stewards have spent all weekend sleeping through drivers having all 4 wheels leaving the track and the with around 10 corners to go penalise someone for having all 4 wheels leaving the track.
The irony is that in here we have actually been talking about how lenient the stewards have been all weekend and suddenly they get tough on just 1 car. It's a BS ruling.
Yeah I agree, kimi moved and Max reacted. But after it all happened, Max should realise it was too much. And will accept the penalty. As everyone should do after seeing the cut. It wasa fully deserved penalty , And im.not blaming Max for trying it. It was worth a go. And he didnt lose anything for tryingPhil wrote: ↑22 Oct 2017, 23:10@Nathan,
Well on that picture it looked clear cut but on the on board, you can tell Max reacts to Kimi. On some level, these cars are traveling at very high speed. The gap looks big but considering the speed they are doing inside a corner, its rather small. A small swerve and they crash.
He cut the corner. Its "Well done stewards"Restomaniac wrote: ↑22 Oct 2017, 23:12Well then it wasn't him leaving the track to overtake as the room was there. As you have just shown he had room so the pass would have worked anyway. As such it's for leaving the track. Top and bottom of it.NathanOlder wrote: ↑22 Oct 2017, 23:12You cant honestly say Max should have been allowed to do what he did.Restomaniac wrote: ↑22 Oct 2017, 23:09Exactly.notsofast wrote: ↑22 Oct 2017, 23:03This whole concept of "gaining an advantage" is rubbish. Dont get me wrong, Max drove awsome and fully deserved to be on the podium with the guts and determination he has shown today. But you just cant allow a car to go up the inside , off the track and CUT THE CORNER . Because thats exactly what he did. Its nothing like running wide on a corner exit. He cut the corner , fact.
Do you agree that he had room so the pass would have probably worked anyway?NathanOlder wrote: ↑22 Oct 2017, 23:15He cut the corner. I think he could have squeezed through with 2 wheels on the track but he didn't. So its a penalty all day long.Restomaniac wrote: ↑22 Oct 2017, 23:16Do you agree that he had room so the pass would have probably worked anyway?NathanOlder wrote: ↑22 Oct 2017, 23:15He cut the corner.
