Mercedes AMG F1 W08 EQ Power +

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Damage on the right side, too. The entire gurney curl is missing.

Yep, the right has the main damage, where the tyre went, it's completely removed the outer edge of the diffuser/turning vanes that hook into the tyre wake.

I moved the PU Specific Posts to the Mercedes PU Thread. But there is one Picture by ScrewCaptain27 that belongs here:

is it me or the minimum floor problem and any car looses way too much performance? actual cars seems to have an oversensitive aero ( in few words they are all at the limit of surface stall there so a tiny problem has vast consequences)
f1 isnt funny like that, nice super cars to watch still, but racing requires turns made side by side also under wake influence and errors and off track excursions.... otherwise it s just not racing anymore...

It would be very interesting to see what Mercedes brings to the last two Grand Prix to trial their 2018 concept.

I don't believe they will bring anything as in visible components . They will probably test different setups, my bet is they'll try more aggressive AOA, try and bring the nose lower with much more stiffer suspension, and bring the rear higher, just to see how the car reacts with bigger rake.

They know what the car will do with an aggressive rake - it won't work. That's why the car is the way it is. There is little they can do with the current car to help next year's, assuming a change of concept is on the cards.

Whatever they are trying it would be foolish to display it for all and sundry. It must be something that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

I agree completely. This is what I was trying to say earlier.
