McLaren MCL32 Honda

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

In F1 some bits are created using SLS (metal additive "printing") - but you'd not use that for front wing elements.
SLS and most other PBF technologies aren't limited to just metals.
Wasn't part of FI's steering wheel PBF printed plastic?

The complexity of front wings, bargeboards and winglets is getting again out of hand...

Looks like they ended up doing what I thought they would with that vertical strake at the edge of the bargeboards.

The honda engine was a blessing in disguise. It forced the team to focus very hard on the chassis for performance.
The barge board area is insane. They should hide some of it for 2018. The chassis may just be as strong, if not stronger than the redbull in the twisty corners.
For Sure!!
