FP2: Hamilton the fastest one, Vettel 0,170-0,200 seconds behind. I guess lower temperatures favour Mercedes. But I think we can see a good battle for the pole.

Interestingly, Horner said that Ferrari blocked his suggestion of keeping 5 engines for the season. Would have expected Mercedes to be the most in favour based on their apparent reliability margin.

Ferrari blocked it based on the fact that they have already spent millions of dollars on RD to ensure that 3 engines would last a season then here comes red bull who just happens to not be an engine manufacturer trying to scrap the 3 engine rule... what would you do if you were in ferrari's position? throw away several million or no?

The entire thing had an end of school feeling and it was great to see drivers so at ease.
Hamilton with his 'well I overtook you twice' and Ricciardo with his 'We have 8 titles between us'.

1. Both Saubers will be lapped.
2. Kimi will report a vibration in the left rear.
3. Perez will get on the radio to demand that Occon gets moved aside.
4. Even if he is an hour ahead, Lewis will ask what the other teams are doing.
5. If there is a safety car, Vettel will **%%@@~~[]??? someone.
6. Grosjean will spin and ask his team "why the **** did that happen?"

Track limits are gonna come up again when we go into quali. There are already drivers who fully cross the white lines in the final 2 corners. This has been an issue on this circuit for many years now, and it's shameful they haven't done something to fix this in all this time.

What happens someone is 2 meters wide, or 3, or 5 and gets a blatant advantage ? Which time are you going to delete ? Where do you draw the line ? That's why we have the line...


Why aren't the rules being applied ? Why do we have them in the first place then ?

The track limits should be the track limits, and that is it.

Gravel traps, high kerbs, rumble strips, sensors, whatever.
Maybe different things for different corners.
Yet another track where drivers can just cutnthe corners wherever they like.

Add a disincentive and everybody will stay on the track.

Anyway, Anthony Davidson thinks they lose time by going wide in the final corners because it's dusty and dirty. I'll shut up for now since he's a bit more experienced than I am In any case, it should be "track limits white lines" though.

Will be an easy pole for Hamilton as Mercedes is confortably the fastest here, as expected, and he even has a newer PU (only 1 GP old), so maybe Bottas will be like 0.5s adrift

Besisdes that, I don't like this track and I think the race will be very boring with almost no battles at all, so maybe I'll skip it and do something else. Tbh, I think most of the people, who are not fanboys of any driver, are looking forward to the drivers' test ( also because of Kubica) after the race as that will be more meaningful than this GP
