dren, could You provide a link to the article? Yesterday Kubica has been a guest at Autosport Awards, described as a F1 Driver (as opposed to Karun the "ex F1 driver"), interviewed thoroughly by the hosts (David Coulthard even joked about a lenghty list of questions they couldn't ask) and handing a trophy to Sebastien Ogier. It seemed like Autosport knew Kubica at Williams is all but confirmed.
Before, during and after last test, both Williams and Kubica were saying that its not speed they will be testing this time. It was all about teamwork and feedback.
Robert already had a chance to test his speed against Sirotkin in Valencia earlier this year, his first F1 car (albeit 2012 model) run since 2011. Turns out Robert has been 0.4s faster.
Granted, some journalists (i.e. Andrew Benson, BBC) keep producing negative news, quite often omiting facts that don't suit their thesis and usually tend to promote their favourites (like Paul Di Resta
) instead, I never saw that being-opposite attitude from Autosport, though i don't read it very often.
