Uprights (wheel carriers) for the era with stationary wheel covers?

My google-fu is failing me and I can't seem to find any images of the wheel uprights used during, what was it 2009? where for a moment a lot of teams used airflow smoothing devices on the outside of the wheels that remained stationary while the wheel was spinning.

Anyone got anything? or remember any threads where the mechanical side of that was talked about?

The uprights were fairly conventional, the axles where hollow and open both ends. Aside from the extension passing into the back of axle, for the wheel-spinner shaft to lock into (to prevent it spinning)

What feature ensured the correct mounting angle? The center pin evident on some of them; it looks like a spring loaded plunger. Is this what selectively engaged the "extension passing into the back of axle?" When depressed by the wheel gun the cover could freely rotate along with the wheel nut; when returned by the spring after the wheel gun is removed, the cover would rotate only until finding its index on the "extension passing into the back of axle." I don't recall how these things behaved during pit stops.
