can you recommend a steering wheel and pedals?

thank you :)
It completely depends on your budget and how serious you are about your experience. If you're more than happy with an ordinary wheel with pedals and shifter then you can't fault the Logitech g27, nor their newer g29/g920. If you're looking for something cheap in the same performance range then the g25 is the best, although noisier than the other Logitech wheels, much noisier. If you're a little more serious and have a bigger budget then the thrustmaster t300rs is a good option and if you're pure hardcore and money is no object then you can invest loads in a fanatec rig. It completely depends on your budget.

Personally i bought a Logitech g25 with wheel stand pro (v1) from eBay for around £104. I had a small budget (sold my Microsoft Band 2 for a similar price and wanted to spend very little extra) and i can say its a really good wheel, and very noisy too :) of course i haven't tried any thing else yet, i haven't even driven a real car yet so i cant compare but there are many people who have and google and Bing are your best friends :)

Edit: Another thing i might add is that since i have got the wheel, my parents have both had a go at driving a car in assetto corsa even though both have no interest in games. They liked it :D
I absolutely can't recommend anyone to buy Fanatec. Their quality control has been quite awful. I got a CSR and a CSW wheel and CSL pedals.
The CSW wheels have been dying all the time (with 6 of 7 wheels dying within a year in my league) and the CSR feels like you are steering honey.
The CSL load cells are a joke. I need a load cell every 6 months, which is to be expected since it is rated for for just 25kg. And the construction is pretty bad as well. Not only is it quite soft (bending it visibly when braking), the USB connection is also in the most stupid position.

Now I use an OSW direct drive. While not exactly cheep, it costs about 900€ without wheel, but it is magnitudes better than any belt drive systems.

The recommended high end pedals come from Heusinkveld (but expensive as well, 700€ for a 3 pedal set).
Ouch lol my wallet is crying just thinking about it :P
One of those pedal sets is more than my entire pc ...

Thanks for the info on the fanatec stuff

You should also get the Porsche packs. The 919 cars are something else
:D

bought the pack with the 2016 919 in it.

WOW!! absolutely handles like a dream even on a pad. gonna hammer Le Mans later see how fast i can go.

Also, i was looking at the Thrustmaster wheels. Im more of a console gamer (Battlefield 1) so not going to be spending crazy money on a wheel and pedals when they arent used very often however i was leaning more towards the T300RS as i can also use that with my PS4 as well as the PC

Anybody any experience using them?

Anyone playing GRID Autosport in here?

Love the online multiplayer mode. Not really a simulator game, but better feedback and control in my opinion. Great handling model.
I played it. You are right it's not a sim but crapmasters' titles never are. Couldn't find a car that I like. All of them felt like filler. The singleplayer looked promising but it became repetitive very quickly. Multiplayer is a joke barely anyone racing it and the ones that do are only hackers and wreckers. Not having 24hrs of lemans. My verdict - the first GRID is still a little bit better game.

I Played the GRID Autosport at a friends place a couple of times, it just does not brings the adrenaline. I would prefer playing the previous one anytime. Currently, i am into the Forza, amazing transition from Gran Turismo for me.

Big Assetto Corsa player here, although these days I do less racing and more creating - got a lot of stuff in the works to be released (eventually).

Few pics of what I've been up to :)

2016 FSAE car, building this one just now for a team to use for promotional events

Image

Lancia Stratos Zero concept, just love the wacky looks of this thing. Still early days, needs a lot of work still

Image

Honda Racing Lawn Mower, because why not? This one is actually public, you can download it :)

Image

Mk1 Focus RS, not started the interior yet, though this is my next task after the FSAE car is done.

Image

Transit, this was my first ever model, currently bringing it up to date.

Image

Fictional 'open wheeler' I made for a laugh, this one is also available to download.

Finally, this is a car my family owns, and felt I should virtually immortalise it

Where do you get information about their physics? Or are they just fudged?

Its a mixed bag really. Obviously I try my best to gather as much data as possible, but its never possible to get everything you want, and you have to fill in the blanks.

The FSAE car for example has been a dream to work on, the team have everything you could possibly need to accurately simulate it. On the other end of the scale, its almost impossible to find detailed info on the Lancia concept for example, so you have to take a lot of liberty.

Things like the Focus and Transit its somewhere in the middle, but I'm in contact with owners to try and get as much info as possible, including suspension geometry dimensions etc, but you always want more. Also doing a little bit of CFD work for the van to try and understand how it goes with yaw angle with regards to sideforce etc.

The fictional car was the best, I had 100% of the data I needed for that  although to be fair you can tell I'm no engineer by the way it drives, I'd be interested on collaborating with those who actually know a thing or two about vehicle dynamics etc.

Great gallery! Would you be interested to import to AC my car from MVRC (see "CAEdevice" http://mantiumchallenge.com/mvrc-the-teams-2017/ ), excluding physics? I have a STEP tobuse a reference and I am not interested in a detailed interior design (I don't mean you have to do it for free). If interested, please send me a PM.

Now that racing season is almost over I got me a copy of f1 2017 and am playing through it with all assists off and AI set to 75%. Playing with a Logitech G27 racing wheel. I am considering getting me a Thrustmaster 500RS with the Ferrari f1 wheel because I can't figure out for the life of me how to use the MFD to change brake bias and to change diff settings etc. Anyone with a similar setup to mine got a pro tip for me for how to use the MFD while on track?

Been working with RSS on two cars for their upcoming GT1 Pack. Thsi first one (based on the Ferrari 550) is more or less finished - now its moved onto the team for some final polish/tweaks, mostly to textures, and general optimisation. Hopefully it will be coming out in the next few weeks, fingers crossed!

As always, bumper album of the whole creation progress is here: https://imgur.com/a/bHTv5

Here are some highlights!

Lots of fun physics testing - this is against the official Maserati MC12, though we are 99% sure it is not in 2004 specification like ours are, instead looking like a neutered, limited 2009 spec.
Image

Nice to get a good look round the interior - can't get away with anything these days with VR, have to model all areas!
Image

Liveries being built as we speak (not by me), only fictional brands/logos to avoid any copyright infringement, though we will release templates that allow anyone to design their own liveries as they please.
Image

Testing the collision all works properly ;)
Image

And of course, just starting on the 575 now, shouldn't take nearly as long since much of the leg work has already been done. In the early stages of matching the unique body shape before grafting it into the existing shell I've made for the 550. Not much to show quite yet :)

Oh and of course, F1technicals very own CAEdevice's 2017 MVRC car has been brought to life too - though still some detail work required.
