Mclaren Vs Toro Rosso 2018 - time capsule

We all love making unfounded predictions on this forum so lets have some fun and make a time capsule to be opened at the mid - end of the 2018 season.

Will Mclaren being challenging Red Bull for wins next year now they have the same PU or will we start hearing the phrase "transition year"?

Will we finally be able to establish how the Honda PU compares to the Renault PU?

Mclaren may finish heigher then Toro Rosso, but i think the most relevant thing is that Mclaren won't have any special treatment from Renault. And if (and i know that it is a big if), Honda built a good engine, that will put Red Bull in a position where they can be the most importante customer for Honda.

If Toro Rosso Honda in 2018 is better than Mclaren Renault, it is because Toro Rosso is better than Mclaren, not as you say "Toro Rosso because (mclaren is in transition year)"

Toro Rosso will be in as much of a transition year as McLaren, so as HPD said, if they lose to Toro Rosso, they're just bad.

if, when... no more hiding for McLaren.... could be very risky. If they switch PU's, McLaren has something to prove and will take gambles on the chassis. We know with RedBull that a Renault PU not always likes that. STR on the other hand can get away with making a safe design, designed to test and develop the PU.

I voted Toro Rosso. 1st I want see Honda ahead of McLaren.
Second I believe McLaren is good but not good enough and we will see it.
All these are expectations and we can see what is what only in 2018. I am looking forward to see winter testing.

Mclaren will get nowhere near Red Bull unless Renault decides to give Red Bull hand grenades and then blame them for poor installation procedures. I will predict that if the Renault is unreliable in testing and the Honda is working well in the torro rosso that Red Bull will kick Renault to the kerb before the second pre season test and will race Honda engines in 2018.

Do u need source? Every one says his estimation, prediction and expectation of 18 and u look for source? It's just a prediction based on my own observation and info.

Why would "Transition year" be a reason to finish higher? Transition years are usually wasted years.
