You do remember hrt don't you or MasterCard Lola don't you
ugly? in god's name why.
slow, sure.
A shame the Lola Mastercard didn't work. It was atleast a step further than USF1 racing team.
as for HRT? They lasted longer than expected to be honest.
as for their finishes?
some interesting facts here.
2017 McLaren F1 team: out of 20 races, there were 18 DNF's.
vs
2011 HRT F1 team: out of 19 races, there were 11 DNF's.
matter of fact, HRT has never had as much DNF's as Mclaren had in 2017.
yes, net result had Mclaren achieve points and HRT never.
but by all comparisons, Mclaren was a bigger disgrace in 2017 than HRT ever was concidering the budget, resources and knowledge.
does the halo look ugly at this point? sure.
can it look better fast? definately.
want ugly?
the halo is nothing in comparison to all the above. does it negatively effect f1 aesthetics? sure.
but i fail to see how HRT and Lola can be called a disgrace in comparison to the HALO.
the halo is a reasonable result from advancing safety in motorsport.
HRT and LOLA's lack of performance was due to a lack of funding in a world where spending is out of all sorts of control.
and again, despite Mclaren atleast achieving some points at the year's end, HRT actually ended up with less DNFs despite having not even the slightest amount of funding in ever-changing situations like bankrupcy, new owners, base moving, all from starting when campos meta pulled the plug fast because the promised budget cieling never happenend.
