So will they have to stand in front of the car in the blazing heat like the grid girls had to... can't see that going very well, i'd rather have nothing or a cool sign in front of the car or something....
Also, having a bunch of kids running around sounds quite dangerous.

I certainly have no issues with removing grid girls - I don’t personally believe the women were being exploited but also couldn’t care less if they’re gone.

I do think more thought could have been put into selecting the kids - e.g. under privileged or make a wish etc.

Also, I think Lauda made a good point in highlighting cheerleaders. How is a grid girl different than a Laker girl? Neither offend me - nor do I think either is objectified more than a catwalk model - but it’s interesting how there seems to be a double standard with the typically American ‘societal norms’.

U know how do u make F1 closer to the young? U make it interesting. I thought Liberty will finally make everything more watchable again, but instead they are making completely no sense with their decisions...

Things that we know, and should be fixed:
- ban of DRS
- shorter cars
- simpler/cheaper engines
- more engine suppliers
- more affordable aero (simplyfying few areas of cars)
- more testing
- fair money distribution
- more teams
- no fuel limitations (flow, or even amounts)
- even less penalties and more on-track aggresion and action
- gravel traps
- return of visual aesthetics of cars (no thumb noses, T-wings, fins and similar things)
- free-to-air feed
- less tracks, having only the good ones

What we are getting so far and in the future:
- HALO (ok, exceptable in terms of safety, but even without the sport would work normally)
- more and more payable channel feeds
- removal of grid girls
- massive race calendar
- change in race starts time which is now worse in terms of enjoying youre free sunday
- concerts and carnevals during the race
- more non racing related "attractions" during the weekend
- wanting to change the racing format
- new TV graphics of which the samples so far were not too good to see
- aparently space cars in the near future
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

I think that "we" is not in order I presume this is your personal opinion/list, not mine at least.

If the grid kids do a similar job to the grid girls, id like every one who was happy to see the back of the grid girls explain to me how this is fine.

As for the Grid kids, it feels like this is just a reaction to the bad feedback on the matter of the grid girls. If this was planned they would have announced it as they announced the grid girls stopping. Surely.

Formula 1 and FIA in new Grid Kids partnership

Everyone's thoughts on this?

I personally think it's a great idea since it promotes Formula 1 to younger fans while also inspiring them to work hard to become their heroes.

well, this is going to surely open a whole load of potential for child labour critisim, exploitation of kids, and i wouldn't be surprised if 'paedophelic accusations' or 'suspicions' will be coming up at some point.

this has to be the lousiest, dumbest, stupidest, retarded decisions and thought patterns ever to cross.

Superb - great solution to the problem. Gives kids a chance to get close to their heroes, and stops pushing the sport as being an old-boys club quite so much.

But now people will be looking at the kids. Like they are objects or something #-o

This is no better than the grid girls. To be honest I'm fine with either, BUT This is just a knee jerk reaction to the sh!t storm created by the MAJORITY of f1 fans not liking the grid girls being dropped. If this was the plan the whole time they WOULD have said something like this

"Unfortunately we feel the time for grid girls has ended but we are delighted to announce that they will be replaced with Grid Kids. This gives kids chance to meet their heros and get a great insight into the sport we all love"

That way no one would/could have been angry and Liverty look good. Instead we got a load of angry people and most of those can see straight through this crap they announced today.

It is my opinion and i dare to say an opinion of many as well, since i have seen enough of posts about this things. The list might have some points which are not acceptable to all, but overall i wrote what the sport needs.

But for the sake of healthy argument i would like to see what is youre stand of what F1 needs to be interesting.

This wont even apply for all the children racing fans, but only those who are in racing clubs.
