Aston Martin Red Bull Racing TAG Heuer RB14

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

How long before Redbulls rear ride height is higher than that of a road car?

I am always suspicious of redbull, Remember the year they had stickers so people didnt see what they were doing with exhausts. They want you to look one place while they are doing something else where!
I believe in the chain of command, Its the chain I use to beat you till you do what i want!!!

Didnt look too bad in the studio photos, but in real life that halo looks massive, what an eyesore

You can see the side impact structure in the shakedown pics. It extends all the way to the bargeboards. It is definitely photoshopped in the studio images though...
Yes, the front shot is either shopped or the pictures show different development stages which are going to be evaluated during testing. It's easy to wrap some paneling around the crash structure or even connect it the pod-deflectors.

Personally I’ve already stopped noticing the halo on the cars - really don’t care that much now, even though I was originally strongly opposed and thought they should have spent longer coming up with an optimal solution.

That said, I also don’t think this is a particularly aesthetically pleasing car or a nice livery - so maybe it’s just me :D

Edit: On a more car-related note, the fact that they’re shaking down the car in the rain highlights some of the vortices - namely the one going over the left rear.

It looks inflated, maybe areo cladding?
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

So using whatever camera or phone was used to film this is how the FIA needs to fix its audio micing issues - cause the engine sounds GREAT here.

So if this pic wasn't made on Ricciardo's X Box and is actually real
Can anything be found in the spray that gives a hint as to what he aero is doing ?
I think you can see the floor sealing working. The spray behind the front wheel doesn't get dragged under the floor. You can see clean air all the way back to the rear tyre.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

I must say this livery has very good cammo. If you didn't know there were bargeboards and turning vanes around the sidepods, you wouldn't see them that easily (side on pic especially )

You can see it in the pictures from gandharva, for instance between the "d" and "B" on the side pod, but looking more blueish grey than green:

I'd say good camo!
there's already this discussion in the team thread. there is a green and a blue camo in the livery.
