Interesting Vandoorne has the quickest time today but is 10k down on top speed
Not that surprising. He was on Hypers, so all the time was gained on the turns.
mclaren doing glory runs a la sauber in an effort to attract new sponsers?
No - all teams will be able to go at least 2, maybe 3 seconds faster than they currently are at present. If he was trying to 'do a glory run to attract sponsors' he would be doing it a lot quicker than that

but seriously, do you really think a sponsors going to say... wow, you went fastest on day 4 of testing... here's £50,000,000

Yes, because that is more important then proper testing....
well they said it before.... the ambient and track temps are so cold that many parameters tested today wont correlate to typical running conditions anyways....

While it may seem medium is a slower tyre, I heard a comment that this tyre actually warms up better in these conditions.

Wasn't the soft the easiest tyre to switch on last year (in general)? Would make sense the medium is that way this year.

Isnt the Medium last years Soft, as every compound is one grade softer. Which is probably why most are using mediums as they can compare against.

no point asking unless you know how much fuel he had on board and what engine mode etc, might have been a light tank run with engine turned down or could have been full tank on qualifying power or anything in between on either of those ranges, just because he pitted doesn't tell us anything

nonsense you can draw some meaningful data if you know how many laps he's done before or after.
