The Barcelona cold phenomena apparently was caused by a 'weather event' from Siberian cold air nicknamed the Beast from the East!

So at what point of the second test will teams really crank up and deliver a performance run?

Is it the latter two days usually?

Two days, are you kidding? It depends:
A. If fans of a team like the current times and results that would be the time they cranked it with the usual name/budget adjustments. Example, Red Bull last season, no amount of poor performance could convince experts they were behind. If reality...

B. If they don't:
- Melbourne - the updates, package, engine modes, sandbagging, tests mean nothing myths.
- After three races - because Melbourne is not a good track to judge
- Europe/Spain - big updates myths
- second part of the season
- in McLaren's case - next season or indefinitely sometime in the future

Vettel is down on Hamilton in S1 and S2 but up on the pit straight and at the end of it. This confuses me.. Running more conservatively? Lifting?

Hi HPD,

What is meaning of last column? Not getting a chart completely.

I think the experts were right. Ferrari is going with a less draggy concept. But can they produce the same amount of downforce as last year?

You just have to look at the difference in speed for red bull at the start/finish line between 2018 and 2017 to know how completely irrelevant those numbers are. Difference of 12 kph would mean renault has gone 100 bhp backwards.

It also confirms all Renault power teams have not tested whit full power?

If you look at S2 speed traps you will see haas is 30 kph faster than bottas, mercedes also not running full power?
