problems for TR ? only 54 laps so far....

or changing the car to Hartley?
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

Hartley was supposed to go tomorrow but I see he's now listed on the timing list. Hope that's what the delay is.

Edit just found this:
Driver changes

As Stoffel Vandoorne heads back in, we take a look at the teams who put other drivers in for this afternoon session. Lewis Hamilton gets in at Mercedes, Carlos Sainz will be driving for Renault, Lance Stroll is taking over from Sergey Sirotkin at Williams and we've heard that Toro Rosso is planning to run Brendon Hartley as well.
whew lol

I think we can safely say now that McLaren is not up to par: red flags out again

Honestly Ronnie Barker couldn't write this stuff. It's beyond funny now.

Just got to hope its teething problems from swapping engines and once sorted they will be ok, otherwise you got to start thinking was how much of it was really Honda's fault or Mclaren's

If they were pushing the envelope, maybe they could be cut some slack. However they have been miles off the pace on a compound for compound basis. Big problems.

Some people have said more than once that Honda was masking the actual situation in Mclaren. In many aspects the team seems to be a second class team right now. Many failures, poor reliablity, lack of leadership, bad pit stops.... :|

Seriously? Can't people read? Today it has been Renault batteries shutting down. It has been confirmed. Same thing happened with Renault on Thursday. It happened to Sainz's car today. What does McLaren have to do with Renault sourced batteries?

I do agree about the pitstop now.

I think you make your own luck. It's not a coincidence that Mclaren have used the Mercedes PU, the Honda PU and now the Renault PU and continue to suffer reliability problems and poor performance.

TRs early time this morning looks really positive even if you just compare to Hams time from last week and call them a second off the pace, that's not a bad place to be at all.

just think, with the new rules on equal engines and power modes for customers, if mclaren hadn't been so desperate to have a manufacturer partnering them, they would now have what's considered the best engine instead of the third (fourth ? ) best. at least this year we can finally find out how good the chassis is compared to red bull and renault
