Did Mclaren bring updates to AUS?
Unfortunately I can't find my crystal ball to answer that question right now, but my guess is that there will be some updates.

Well said  =D> =D>

Yes they will. That was already confirmed before testing.

What were people’s thoughts with regards to how the car looked in testing- did it look basic or ‘threadbare’ in any way?

I know the potential for an S-Duct grabbed attention but was there any other areas where you looked and thought ‘yep- definitely more to come there’?

I was a little surprised to see them with the wider nose (relatively) compared with competitors, though only Mercedes seem to have been able to go sleek in that regard.
I'm no expert (not even the armchair kind), but the flow conditioners etc around the front of the sidepod look like there's still a lot to come there.

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Holy smokes I didn't realize that substantial! It's going to be a different car. Outstanding.

"But while there are big changes taking place at the team, its aero chief Peter Prodromou says that the initial design that will be revealed and will test next week will not be radically different from last year.

However, a big effort is being made to introduce new parts for the first race in Melbourne that could deliver a decent step forward in pace.

"We have tried to develop the car as we have done for the last three years," explained Prodromou about the car design. "We've tried to develop it in an evolutionary fashion.

"I think you can expect to see something quite similar conceptually for launch – and then in truth we have spent the last two to three months focusing on a race one upgrade.

"That is where the major focus has been and still is – to try to deliver a decent upgrade both aerodynamically and mechanically and try to put our best foot forward for Melbourne.""

Assuming this is true news (and I could be late?), is this what McLaren needs (roll over Bruce)
McLaren Formula 1 boss Zak Brown has revealed that he will attend this year’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 instead of the Japanese Grand Prix.

Has there been any recent talk of Mclaren building its own engines from 2021?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Really? They don't build the engines of their cars in house, will they build the engine of the F1 car?

I read from a link on here that there's some chatter regarding them building their engines under the new rules from 2021. It was speculative with a question mark, but it suggested it would be in collaboration with BMW and Ricardo. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else, just that single article. That's why I was wondering if it's been mentioned elsewhere

I think the point is that people are assuming they are liars, which is next level dumb.

If they say they got reliability sorted, then they think they do. It's not like they don't have dynos and shaker rigs and specific items to work on they discovered in testing.

McLaren have shown more than once they can rapidly develop and/or pivot. They made an octopus exhaust in testing, and by race one had an entirely different exhaust system and 3d printed titanium diffuser.

McLaren have been on the back foot but underestimating their talent and resource is a fool's errand.
